Hall of fame
The Hall of Fame is the biggest honor and motivation for every professional in various types of fields. In Dr. Fredrick’s Hall of Fame I have selected three editorials that I believe can be in the Hall of Fame. The editorials are "Do- Gooders Need to Let Us Decide for Ourselves What is Harmful " written by Ed Fulginitti, “Why We Don’t Need Animal Experimentation” written by Peggy Carlson and “Maybe Money Does Buy Happiness After All” written by David Leonhardt. All three editorials are based on different issues. The first editorial I selected, “Do – Gooders Need to Let Us Decide for Ourselves What is Harmful”, written by Ed Fulginittiis based on the writer’s view that people shouldn’t be forced to do what they don’t want to do. He believes that every individual knows what is right and wrong for them and that when someone makes a wrong decision, they are well aware of the consequences and stay firm with their choice because of free will. The second editorial I selected, “Why We Don’t Need Animal Experiments”,written by Ed Fulginitti talks about how the best breakthrough in medicine is discovered when research is done on human subjects. Finally the last editorial I selected is “Maybe Money Does Buy Happiness After All” written by David Leonhardt.Leonhardt write about a theory invented by Richard Easterlin, an economist in the University of Pennsylvania, called “Easterlin paradox”. I believe the most deserving editorial to be selected in the Hall of Fame should be “Maybe Money Does Buy Happiness After All” written by David Leonhardt.

...rlin paradox” and he too found Stevenson’s and Wolfers’ view persuasive as he states “There is just a vast amount of accumulated evidence that the “Easterlin paradox” may not exist.” Along with talking to Mr. Kahneman about this issue, Leonhardt also called Mr. Richard Easterlin itself because even Easterlin received a copy of paper by Stevenson and Wolfers. This suggests that Leonhardt isn’t just basing his decisions and opinions on the two economists (Stevenson and Wolfers) but also based on person research. Leonhardt mentions Easterlin’s view on the issue too stating “he agreed that people in richer countries are more satisfied. But he’s skeptical that their wealth is causing their satisfaction.” Leonhardt also states how Easterlin is willing to believe that his invention doesn’t exist anymore as he says “and I’m perfectly willing to believe it doesn’t hold up”
