Acting in Kindness Together
A random act of kindness by definition is understood to be unsystematically acting in goodwill without any expectation of return or benefit to oneself. According to the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation (RAKF), there is a “kindness movement” in progress. The main goal of this movement is to help create a better world by increasing awareness and spreading acts of kindness. (Random) Scott Adams, creator of the comic strip Dilbert, proclaims not to believe that an act of kindness could ever be too small. Adams points out that every act of kindness creates a ripple without end. (Random) Adams’ point of view coincidently corresponds with Newton’s third law of motion. Which according to, Tom Henderson creator of the Physics Classroom website, Newton’s third law states: “a force is a push or a pull that acts upon an object as a result of its interaction with another object. Forces result from interactions!” (Henderson) In other words for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction; whether good or bad. Therefore, the act of kindness when put into motion is the “force” that starts a chain reaction with immeasurable positive bearing; encouragement that consumes the recipient(s) and then spreads back to the originator of the benevolent action(s); including any and all participates. For this random act of kindness project the requirements specified for a group to first choose an organization. Next, conduct research to provide a brief history and an explanation of the services provided. Then, volunteer at the location and interview staff and those being served; to help identify a need the agency is currently facing. Finally, collaboratively compile a proposal for a solution for the identified need. First ...

It has been concluded to be the least invasive, yet most effective solution for all involved. It only takes one visit to NCC to see the scope of age, talent, specialties and resources available on campus. This is a multifaceted plan to inspire civic mindedness on campus at NCC and in the community at large. This is also a great opportunity for the NCC student body to make an effective difference for not only the RM HHI ReStore but also to help start a continuum of volunteers that has the potential to perpetuate for many years.

One of the primary causes of prosocial behavior is altruism. Altruism is when an individual behaves in a prosocial manner without any expectation of something in return. In a 2012 scholarly journal published by Osama Hazzi and Issa Maldoon of Damascus University, it was stated the altruism in the workplace is “discretionary behavior that has the effect of helping a specific other person with an organizationally relevant task”. The ideas of prosocial

Nonprofit Organizations The purpose of this research is to define nonprofit organizations, describe opportunities that are present in nonprofits, outline advantages and disadvantages of working in the nonprofit sector, and explain how you can determine if this is an area for you to consider as a career. WHAT IS THE NONPROFIT SECTOR? "Nonprofit" is a term that the I.R.S. uses to define tax-exempt organizations whose money or "profit" must be used solely to further their charitable or educational mission, rather than distribute profits to owners or shareholders as in the for-profit sector. The term is also used to describe organizations which are not a branch of -- are independent of -- the government and the corporate sector. This term refers to one of the most important uniqueness of a nonprofit organization: it is independent of both the public or government sector and the private or corporate sector.
Strassmair (2009) also showed that the people who benefit fully from the perceived kindness or the costly action of others does not spoil the benefit for them or induce any negative emotion such as guilt. This kindness received from others is also given great significance by the receiver of the kind act (Macdonald, Liben, Carnevale, Rennick, Wolf, Meloche, & Cohen, 2005).
A just world is a society where the four basic elements are meant, which include: basic needs, personal dignity, solidary, and social structures. Just this four elements are needed to live a just life and create a just world. The thing is it not that special. In the year 2016, these basic elements aren’t meant; but the wonderful factor is that many charities, organizations, and individuals are striving to create this just world. One of these charities is Habitat for Humanity.
Before a case can be made for the causes of altruism, altruism itself must first be defined. Most leading psychologists agree that the definition of altruism is “a motivational state with the ultimate goal of increasing another’s welfare.” (Batson, 1981). The only way for a person to be truly altruistic is if their intent is to help the community before themselves. However, the only thing humans can see is the actions themselves, and so, selfish intent may seem the same as altruistic intent. Alas, the only way that altruism can be judged is if the intent is obvious. Through that, we must conclude that only certain intents can be defined as altruistic, and as intent stemming from nature benefits the group while other intent benefits yourself, only actions caused by nature are truly altruistic.
The relationship between young people and nonprofits can be the start of a significant change in our community, and should be a reciprocal and powerful educational experience. An open-minded and encouraging flow of communication between organizations and community members can be the launchpad for the social and environmental change organizations talk about and try for every day. Together, we can make change – not just a semblance of idealism, but reality, as well.

A perfect society would consist of an atmosphere where random acts of kindness were a normal part of everyone’s daily life. Not only does one experience a sensation of relief and joy whenever performing an act of kindness, the deed also affects the person whom the kindness was directed towards. A random act of kindness is a widely known subject. However, the effects of the action are not as well known. In today’s society, between all of the cars, cellphones, money, jobs, new technology etc. it becomes easier to be wrapped up or conceited with one’s self, forgetting about others. A random act of kindness can bring a person out of this conceited stage. A random act of kindness is doing a selfless act, big or small, without expecting anything in return (Random Acts of Kindness). There are a plethora of affects that come along with doing this specific task. For example, by carrying out a random act of kindness, it affects the presenter along with the receiver psychologically as well as physically.
Aesop once stated, “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” In this time period, many people around the globe only focus on their life, and they do not focus on lifting others up. Kindness is one word that can change lives, even when the person that shows kindness doesn’t even know the impact they are making. One act of kindness does not appear to be very important, but every act makes an impact. The world is full of hatred, war, and terrorism, but anybody can start to make a change. Some reasons that any act of kindness has an impact include other people needing positivity, the start of a chain reaction, and the benefit of other people in the world.
