Georgia has many gun laws, which help protect the state and the people in the state. The laws range from having a permit to carry a hand gun, where you cannot carry a handgun, what kind of guns you can carry without having a firearm permit, what age someone can buy a gun. The second amendment gives us the right to bear arms not just in the state of Georgia but it gives us the right everywhere. Georgia also has a law about the possession of people with guns who was involved in a crime, minors with the possession of handguns, and possession of dangerous weapons and the possession of a firearm under the influence in the state. Gun laws are not something to play around with. Georgia takes the laws very seriously and if caught breaking the gun laws you could get in major trouble or get a ticket. Without the gun laws that Georgia has set there could be people the wrong people handling a gun that shouldn’t be. Also I believe that Georgia should enforce the laws more than they do. Retailers that sell guns should have to run more background information before they sell the gun to a person that looks like they have a behavior issues or someone who acts like they could hurt someone with a gun.
To carry a handgun in the state of Georgia you must have a permit which is known as Georgia Weapons Carry License or the Georgia Firearms License. There are two different kind of licenses issued in the state of Georgia. One kind of license that is issued is under the code 43-38-10 which is a special
license that is given to security guards employed by a security agency. The license gives the authority to carry everywhere a LEO can carry, but only while on duty and only if it is in performance of the bearer's duties (James 2010). This lic...

...combination of both to the extent, that it is unsafe for the person who is discharging the firearm. Georgia’s law also states the discharge of any firearm while engaged in any shooting activity while under the influence of alcohol or any kind drug or the combination of both. It is no defense to violation of this law even if you are legally entitled to use such a drug that is a prescription (James 2010).

First off, United States citizens were given the right to bear arms in the 2nd amendment of the Constitution, so many people buy firearms. For example, 40% of all US homes have at least one gun. The United States Constitution states, “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” Although it is a given right, the 2nd amendment is also just a reminder to the government not to take this right away from citizens. Additionally, Wisconsin has a state preemption law that says that cities can not pass firearm ordinances that are more strict that the state laws. They can enforce a sal...

Some people think that states that allow citizens to carry guns only raises the crime rate in that state. Studies have actually shown that states that allow citizens to carry guns actually have a lower crime rate. States that allow citizens to carry guns have actually shown to lower murder rates from 5.6 killings per 100,000 people to 4.2.

In their turn, J. M. Bruce and C. Wilcox (1998) provide the complete analysis of the types of legislation referred to gun control and their differences across the states. They refer these differences to the cultural, demographic, and social peculiarities of each state (Bruce & Wilcox, 1998).

When the United States Constitution adopted the Second Amendment as a part of the Bill of Rights it was to recognize citizens the right to keep and bear arms. This Second Amendment is the reason why strong gun advocates are afraid to have any gun policy put in this state. The people that have their guns believe that the government is going to be corrupted and the people have to overturn it. But, they live in a fairytale if they really thinking that they are going to beat a army like the United States. They are afraid that the local government will take away their guns. This policy that I will explain to you won't do none of these options, but instead help the state lower the crime rates that involve guns and keep law enforcement well know to people that have guns in their possession. We are trying to go after the illegal owners of firearms instead to outstanding citizen that owns gun trying to protect his family from an home invasion, protecting his herd from wolves so the farmer won't lose more money , or just having a good time hunting with his friends and family.
The Second Amendment of the United States protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms. It was adopted on December 15, 1791 along with the rest of the Bill of Rights. The United States Government should not infringe on those rights by the enforcement of gun control against law-abiding citizens. Gun control does not reduce crime, does not stop criminals from obtaining guns, and does not address the real issue of violent crime. There is no evidence that gun control affects the crime rate. The United States government is attempting to reduce violent crime by controlling the amount of guns on the market, who is allowed to purchase a gun, and what type of gun a person is allowed to purchase. The only people affected by gun control laws are the law-abiding citizen that should be allowed to purchase firearms without the government’s interjection.
