Growth and Prosperity Growing older is something that is as inevitable as death. It is not up to us whether we will grow in age, but we can control how we embrace our never ending journey. As American anthropologist, educator, and writer, Loren Eiseley, once said “To grow is to gain, an enlargement of life…Yet it is also a departure. There is something lost that will not return.” Eiseley looked at life as a continuous advance, to make each day better then the last. He also notices that with every gain there is a lose, whether it be youth, innocence, or even lost moments. The key to life is to not ponder on the lost moments, but to learn from the experiences and continuously grow as a person. As a child or teen, life seems to come and go without much thought put into deeper meaning. High school, for the most part, is a social gathering, a fashion show, or just another intrusion from a day of video games. Not many students think of actually learning and comprehending single cell anemia in Biology 101, but rather focus on passing the weekly quiz so that mom or dad does not take away...
Central Idea: Many students feel like they are moving on after high school with no knowledge of real life situations.
This story demonstrates that growing up is a necessary and frustrating task. However, people must handle anything that life throws at them with wisdom beyond their years. The aging curse prevents people from staying young and innocent, instead forcing them to enter adulthood and tackle the challenges facing them.
The article I chose for this assignment included two passages from the book, The Gift of Years, by Joan D. Chittister (1936). Chittister wrote this book when she was 81 years old and it is a particularly poignant read because the book provides a realistic and an optimistic view about how we grow old.
The thought of aging is not void of hesitance given it produces questions deprived of answers in the absence of a crystal ball. Subsequently, aging parallels the unknown; thus, faced with uncertainty adopting a positive perspective remains elusive. Although, it’s preferred to view aging optimistically one cannot escape its negative connotations. Will I be an active agent or isolated burden remains a noteworthy unknown that enervates my optimism. Another consideration leading to my vacillating view on aging is, not knowing to what degree personal competencies and capacities will carry forward, thereby affording autonomy in the elder years. However, as research suggest, the aging process transforms healthy adults into frail ones; thus, dashing one’s hope that such traits will endure (Friis, 2010). Incidentally, at age 48, these lingering questions will soon be answered. In the interim, there is an inherent responsibility to prepare physically, psychologically, and financially for entry into the aging population. Ideally, the goal is to

Ageing is a continuing life cycle, it is an ongoing developmental event that brings certain changes in one’s own psychological and physical state. It is a time in one's own life where an elderly individual reminisce and reflect, to bask and live on previous accomplishments and begin to finish his life cycle. There is a significant amount of adjusting that requires an elderly individual to be flexible and develop new coping skills to adapt in the changes that are common in their new life. (Dhara & Jogsan, 2013).
Late adulthood should be a time in a person's life where they feel fulfilled. They can look back on their memories and be happy with the way they have lived their life. Now, too many elderly people are not satisfied and look at this stage as depressing. Most fear death of either a loved one or for themselves. This topic is interesting to me because elderly people should make the best of their last stage of life. This topic discusses about getting older, the life changes that they go through physically, emotionally, and mentally. We should know more about it so that we can help our family and friends get through one of the best, yet toughest part of our mortal life.
Let’s flash back in time to before our college days. Back to then we had lunch trays filled with rubbery chicken nuggets, stale pizza, and bags of chocolate milk. A backpack stacked with Lisa Frank note books, flexi rulers, and color changing pencils. The times where we thought we wouldn’t make it out alive, but we did. Through all the trials and tribulations school helped build who I am today and shaped my future. From basic functions all the way to life-long lessons that helped shape my character.
As freshman, we came home from school with the mentality that we were no longer children, but rather had entered into a new stage of life. Everything seemed different and new; we weren’t the big kids on campus anymore. We no longer were the persons being looked up to, but rather were the persons looking up to an entire school of older students. We remember joining our firsts clubs, going to dances, and having Orientation days.
Growth Strategies are strategies that help entrepreneurial ventures to increase turnovers, employment and volume (Abubakar, 2014). Entrepreneurs need growth strategies because they want their businesses to grow in order to survive in the competitive market. However, this is not the only reason why their businesses should grow. Growing ventures satisfy the ego of entrepreneurs as they will capture economic scale which lowers the average cost of production, win larger market shares, gain more power, lead the market and become the brand leader. There are many different types of growth strategies and they can be divided into two groups, organic (internal) growth strategies and inorganic (external) growth strategies. This essay aims to discuss and analyse how these growth strategies work for entrepreneurial ventures.
Every experience we go through will, in some way or another, help each of us to develop understanding. Coming of age is a life-long journey, but there are major events or experiences you can go through that will play an important part in become an adult. As time goes by, we will all experience trials, blessings, heartache, joy, and love; each of these periods in our lives will have an extraordinary impact upon who we become. These escapades, will enable us to come of age. The importance of coming of age develops from the experiences that create memories, teach life skills, and inspire character.
Though people see adulthood and childhood more different than alike, we never stop growing, no matter the age. We never stop learning. We always have rules to follow through life. There is an
Theoretical model of modern economic growth shows that long-term economic growth and raise the level of per capita income depends on technological progress. This is because of without technological progress and with the increase of capital per capita, marginal returns of capital would diminish and output per capita growth would eventually stagnate (Solow, 1956; Swan, 1956). Studies have shown that “experience, skills and knowledge in the long-term economic growth is playing an increasingly important role” (World Bank, 1999). Despite how technological progress work on economic growth, and how there are different views on the role of in the end, but I am afraid no one would deny that technical progress in the important role of economic development. In this sense, for a country to achieve long-term economic growth, we must continue to promote technological progress. However, economic growth theory is analyzed in general, and usually under the assumption that in the closed economy, and technological progress in a country not normally have taken place in various departments at the same time, and now the economy are often increasingly open economy. In this way, the technological progress in different economic impact on a country may be quite different. In addition, we assume that technological progress is Hicks neutral, is to an industry in itself, but technological progress also reflects the establishment of new industries and development. The new industries and technology-intensive industries generally older than the high, the use of less labor. Even the old industries, the general trend of technological progress is labor-saving.
It is natural to be misled by the idea that economic growth is the key
The importance of growth and sustainability for the economy comes from the fact that economic growth is fundamental to development and a stable economy, which enhances a nation’s development through the creation of revenue and employment. It is necessary to distinguish between economic growth and development (Hillbom, 2008). Generally economic development cannot be defined so precisely, as it is a multidimensional concept which refers to “changes in living standards and welfare over time”. It also referred to “structural change of economic and social infrastructure in an economy” as UNCTAD (2014) stated that economic development is fundamentally “a process of structural transformation whereby countries innovate and diversify from producing
