Global warming is the rising of average temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere due to greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases are gases that trap heat in the atmosphere. The greenhouse effect consists of gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and water vapor insulating the Earth’s surface and helping it maintain warm temperatures. However since there is so much carbon dioxide filling the air the Earth atmosphere absorbs almost all of the suns emission. When the sun heats the earth the atmosphere is supposed to radiate most of the heat but instead it takes all the warmth and uses it to power the Earth causing a buildup of green house gases. This has been taught to everyone, but is it true or a hoax? Some scientists argue that global warming is nothing to worry about and that it is just a myth. Nevertheless there are other scientists who say the world will enter a vast drought because of the rising temperatures. Global warming affects natural and geographical and historical boundaries. “The rising temperatures cause ice sheets to shrink more and more every year and because of that the sea level rises,” reported CNN. This also makes animals such as the polar bear and penguins become endangered because their habitat is melting. Droughts and heat waves also can be an effect to the rising of global temperatures. New diseases are spread from country to country due to deforestation. Economic situations play a part in this issue because of the coat for power plants and wind turbines. This charge can make the poorest people never be able to escape a life of poverty. The rising sea level could be enough to flood low lying cities such as New York City and Shangia, China. Global warming is the rise in average temperature of Earth’s atmosphere and oceans. If the warming continues it will have drastic effects on our lives in the future. Things such as harsher summers and colder winters will become a reality for future generations. Global warming is real, despite what the naysayers say, and it will affect us in many different ways if we can’t solve this problem. By presenting skeptics arguments about global warming I’ll prove global warming to be real by disproving them.
First of all, as the water temperatures rise, coral bleaching becomes possible and when it becomes too hot, algae is released from the corals, making them fully white. Another consequence of global warming is an increase in droughts. When the temperature is increased for a period of time, the amount of water decreases as wind pressures do the opposite, causing droughts all over the world. Furthermore, when water vapor condenses due to the heat, the surrounding air warms as well, causing hurricanes. As the temperature rises so does the length and strength of the hurricanes. Sea level rising is a consequence that is caused by warmer oceans and the melting of land covered in ice, both primarily caused by global warming. The ocean and atmosphere work side by side and if one’s temperature rises so does the other’s. The ocean temperature continues to rise and the amount of water vapor in oceans increase too as a consequence of global warming. Last but not least, ocean acidification, is the final consequence of global warming in this list. As carbon dioxide levels rise in the atmosphere, pH levels reduce in the ocean, causing ocean acidification and death of fish along with
over the past century primarily due to green house gases released as people burn fossil
Global warming is a serious issue effecting the entire world. Global warming not only affects our weather when it comes to temperature, but also precipitation including rain and snow. Global warming causes negative effects on animals, some species no longer populate certain areas due to climate change and are migrating in order to survive. Scientists say that the sea levels have increased due to the melting of the glaciers. (Cunningham & Cunningham, 2009, p. 207)
Global warming is an increasing threat to the Earth and future generations. Global warming, sometimes called climate change, is the name given to the process of heat getting trapped in the atmosphere and damaging the environment. Greenhouse gases cause heat to gets stuck in the atmosphere by trapping the sun’s rays. When the sun’s rays enter the Earth, they should bounce back into the atmosphere. Instead the gases trap them, causing the temperature to rise. In the past the temperature of the Earth has risen slowly and evenly but recently the temperature has risen faster. The temperature of the Earth has risen at least one degree Fahrenheit during the twentieth century. If global warming is not controlled there are serious consequences. People, animals, and plants could be living in an atmosphere that is not suitable for sustaining healthy lives.
The main gases that cause the greenhouse effect are water vapor, carbon dioxide (CO2), and methane, which comes mainly from animal manure. Other gases like nitrogen oxide and chloroflurocarbons, man made gases, get caught in the atmosphere as well. The decay of animals and respiration are two main natural sources of carbon dioxide. In my opinion, we the people of the world should try to slow down the emission of greenhouse gases and/or find ways to balance the gases so the climate doesn’t change so rapidly. If it did, we would be forced to adapt to the new climate that we brought upon ourselves. If we had an international cooperation to put a damper on the production of chloroflurocarbons and slowed down the use of fossil fuels it would dramatically slow done the process of "global warming". Carbon dioxide pollution from the increase of industry and transportation is a major cause of global warming. These two causes are connected with the growth in the world population. As the population grows the necessity for food and other products increase, therefore industry must grow to keep up with the demand. The increase in transportation is directly due to the growing population and the need for jobs and the growing congestion on our highways. Another cause in global warming is deforestation. Trees remove carbon dioxide from the air as they grow. The carbon dioxide is released back into the air as they are cut and burned. The forest ability to reduce the carbon dioxide from the atmosphere is decreasing due to massive deforestation around the world. These causes seem simple and fixable, but if they are not cut down, the Earth and its inhabitants will feel the effects.
Without global warming, the Earth’s temperature would be a lot lower than the 60-degree average. Unfortunately due to there being many more harmful “greenhouse gases” being placed into the atmosphere, instead of the temperature staying at a constant, its rising. What are many of the dangers of the Earth’s temperature rising? First of all it cause many of the glaciers that are floating in the Arctic and Greenland to melt. This in turn causes the sea levels to rise around the world.
problems due to global warming are death to heat waves and other climate changes, and
... areas will get more precipitation and storms while others will get nothing and have serious droughts. The warming of a few degrees will cause glaciers to melt and sea ice to melt leading to a lot of damage. This damage would lead the levels of the oceans to rise and would cause damage to coastal cities and islands. This would cause serious problems for the different species living in the oceans and could some disease. Especially diseases caused by mosquitoes which love warm and humid climates. There are many ideas and solutions to stop global warming. It is very difficult to reverse this process once it is started. If we want to live like we are now and have been we have to stop this process. Emissions of fossil fuels by humans is a big factor of global warming. The reason being is because of the amount of carbon dioxide released from the fossil fuels. Controlling these emissions is one huge step of many steps required to slow down and stop global warming. If global warming is not controlled, all the problems that have been mentioned, along with other problems will disrupt the living patterns in which we live.
Global Warming is an increase in the average temperature around the world. Scientists have been able to trace the global climate and concluded that over the last ten thousand years, the climate of the earth has been relatively constant. In the twentieth century, the global temperature increased 0.740°C. The change in the warming, and cooling, of average global temperatures cause climate change, a change related to climate patterns such as temperatures, rainfall, wind and humidity. This flux in temperature is affected by multiple factors making it hard to determine the true source of problem. Evidence supports that the earth's warming is natural; however, some data indicates that the warming trend has increased due to human activity.
“The global warming is refers to the global temperature to elevate.”( Philander, S. George, P456). According to Global Warming and Climate Change, nearly 100 for many years, the global average temperature has experienced the cold - warm - cold - warm two fluctuations, generally speaking for trend of escalation. After the 80s, global temperature obvious is rising. What’s the global warming? Global warming is a growing problem in the world. Melting ice-caps in the Artics and Antartica, rising temperatures across the continents, increasing number of typhoons and tropical storms are just some of the effects of global warming. It must be realised that human activities are the causes of global warming. The increasing levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) have rose at exponential rates. It is therefore our duty to save the earth. Nowadays global warming is big deal with human especially in Asia, which is much more problems in population, environmental pollution and industrial pollution.
The increase in the planet temperature can make huge changes in the geological composition and the water surface in the planet. Some of the effects that global warming might causes are floods, melting the ice caps, and hurricanes. The increase in the temperature is melting the ice caps on the North and South Pole, and increase the water level in the planet. Many cities ...
Of all the effects of global warming, the extreme weather that is taking place all over the world is the most obvious one. Global warming will bring more heat waves, drought, fiercer wildfires and stronger hurricanes. “This intensification of weather and climate extremes will be the most visible impact of global warming in our everyday lives” (75 yrs NWF). Due to rising temperatures, places everywhere will be affected as we get more extremely hot summer days and lesser winters. In addition, as these rising temperatures shifts the cycle of rain and increases evaporation, there will be longer and drier droughts which in turn can lower the water supply for life everywhere. Wildfires can turn out to be even more catastrophic due to warmer temperatures and drier areas combined with accumulated levels of fuel loads in the forest which has built up as a result of decades of fire suppression activities. Moreover, stronger hurricanes are also an effect of global warming as sea levels are rising and heavier rains are falling near the coasts. Overall, global warming is bringing climates that are changing real fast.
Also, the union of concerned scientist states that global warming will cause “Disruptions in daily life related to climate change can mean lost work and school days and harm trade, transportation, agriculture, fisheries, energy production, and tourism.” They also believe with the rise in weather problems there would be damage to buildings which would cost the country millions.
We should all be very concerned about our future on Earth as human beings. We may not be at such an immediate risk of burning to death, but our future descendants are. Every year, the overall temperature has gone up slowly. Eventually Earth will be too hot to live on, and the human race will become extinct! The best way to save our future is to start now. Americans should be conscientious of global warming and should watch their CO2 emissions because increasing CO2 concentrations means an increase in Earth’s temperature.
