Global Warming is Changing the Artics

Earth is our one and only home. Without it, life as we know it would not be sustainable. We, this current generation and the previous generation, have seemed to take for granted the fragile nature of the Earth. These generations have done this because they have done very little to nothing to fix the problem of global warming. More often than not, people are ignorant of the global warming situation because they know nothing about global warming and its effects on the planet. What is global warming? Global warming can be defined as “an increase in the earth's atmospheric and oceanic temperatures widely predicted to occur due to an increase in the greenhouse effect resulting especially from pollution” (“Global Warming”). This greenhouse effect causes several problems. These problems include worldwide climates change, which will eventually lead to environmental chaos. These greenhouse effects are especially felt in the Arctic. They trap gases that capture and hold heat in the atmosphere, causing the Arctic to warm up and the ice to melt. Without proper action towards decreasing the effects of global warming, Earth and its inhabitants will face several environmental and security difficulties in the near future.
Global warming creates one main problem, which causes several other problems to stem from it. As the greenhouse gases trap and hold the heat in the atmosphere, it creates a negative impact on the climate worldwide. The majority of the world’s temperatures have increased noticeably, but in the Arctic, the temperature has risen significantly. “Recent climate change has been especially pronounce in the Arctic region, with surface temperatures rising two to four times faster than that of the global average” (Screen and Simmons).
