Generations: Baby Boomers

As students, freshmen come into high school knowing that they are hated by every upperclassmen in the school, with the exception of some friends and possibly family. The freshmen don’t understand why they are disliked, and most of the upperclassmen can’t tell you why they despise the freshmen, except for some unproved responses such as: “They’re annoying”, or “They’re so immature”. This sequence occurs every year. As the freshmen turn into upperclassmen, they too develop a hate for the incoming freshmen. This relationship is common on a larger scale as well; older generations view the younger generations as annoying, dumb, and immature. Dealing with three generations today, we have the omniscient Baby Boomers (1946-1964), impious Generation X (1965-1979), and the judged Millennials (1980-2000: the youngest generation). With them, a futile attempt to convince non-believers that the Millennials are not, and far from the worst generation to exist.
Just like the upper classman, the older generations say Millennials are “The dumbest generation”; “the intellectual future of the United States looks dim.” (Drutman). Criticizing Millennials use of the internet as a way to regurgitate the information of others and then claim to be more intelligent. They assume that Millennials see education as “un-cool” and “lame”, but is this just the older generations’ shallow judgment and unwillingness to assimilate into today’s culture? It’s stated that Generation X is more concerned with being “cool” than any other societal idea (TheSoundResearch). People don’t want to ask about others opinions and views, they would prefer to jump to conclusions and stick with their bias thoughts.
Perhaps the Baby Boomers and Generation X need to talk to the Mille...
