The Supreme Court of the United States ruled that the Constitution guarantees a right to same-sex marriage. Is this a good thing? The legalization of gay or lesbian marriage has been a touchy subject for some time now some say it should be and some say that it shouldn't be legal. The subject should not be taken lightly and should require most some serious thought as to which side they choose to be on. Most people have a hard time with this subject because of long term moral debates they have with themselves because maybe they have family members that choose this lifestyle or may actually be considering it themselves. This controversial topic is interesting and usually told from only one perspective. So whether or not people support gay marriage this paper should be read and maybe it will open some new doors for the reader. Legalizing gay marriage would not only distort children's views of what's right, but also it would create a generation of mass confusion about the definition of marriage, opening all kinds of doors to the dark side of humanity.
To begin with gay marriage as a whole is completely wrong in most eyes if that has not already been picked up by people yet. There are many overwhelming cons and things that would be bad to society resulting from this legalization. The increase in benefits having to be paid by employers would increase due to their now being considered married. The thing that is so bad about this is because not only are they taking money away from people with families and mouths to feed but there giving it to gay couples just for being married. This in a way gives them incentive to marry not because they love each other but because it could bring a money outcome.

...mental problems caused by this type of reproduction and sense of not belonging to the right people in a way. This would occur almost indefinitely more if the legalization of gay marriage were to occur and would create many children in this type of situation that can be avoided. This would be detrimental to society as a whole and create a generation that's highly confused and totally unaware of how marriage is supposed to be established.

Reasons ranging from religion to it leading to other non traditional relationships and therefore weakening the values of marriage. Many religions do not accept same sex couples, christianity for example clearly states that god feels that gay marriage is unnatural and a sin to do so. Other people feel that it simply doesnt work because you can not produce a child without one or the other, going back to their animalistic views. Its also widely believed that to raise a child, you need a mother and father. All of these issues no matter how dignified they may seem are simply not enough to hold someone from their rights. Yet we still are having this
Marriage as generally define is the union between one man and one woman. However a recent debate over same-sex marriage has stirred a nationwide debate reverberating in the halls of Congress, at the White House, in dozens of state courtrooms and legislatures, and is also becoming a speech-making topic for election campaigns at both the national and state levels. As the debate for this controversial topic rages on, the American religious community view on the topic remains deeply divided over the matter and over the morality of homosexuality in general. Granting legal marriage right to gays and lesbians would primarily alter the idea of marriage, ignore a child’s right to a mother and father, and expands government control of marriage.
On June 26, 2015, the US Supreme Court ruled that the US Constitution guarantees the right for same-sex couples to marry. Should gay marriages be legal? Why should our nation accommodate such a dreadful Supreme Court ruling? Gay couples have become a major problem for our children. Children only repeat what they hear, see, and other habits from their role models. Our children are the ones who are being subjected to these horrifying situations.

Another reason that some people think gay marriage shouldn't be legalised is because gay marriage may lead to more children being raised in same sex households which are not an optimum environment because children need both a mother and father. Girls who are raised apart from their fathers are reportedly at a higher risk for teenage pregnancy and children without a mother are deprived of the emotional security and advice that mothers provide. Although, some children who have heterosexual parents live with just their mum or their dad and that is also not considered to be an optimum environment.

Allowing same-sex marriages would change the basic definition of marriage. Marriage is an important commitment of a man and a woman who contribute to civilization. Therefore, the loss of contributions due to someone’s sexual orientation should not be rewarded with a privilege such as marriage. Same-sex marriages affect many factors such as children, the concept of marriage, and humanity. However, it is not a misdemeanor to love somebody of the same gender but it can rigorously damage many aspects of life.
What is equality? Is it bending to the nations will or is it providing certain human rights without regard of the person or persons? The majority of Americans believe in the latter. Unfortunately, giving same-sex couples the right to marry, which is a human right, threatens certain traditions in the world of religion. However, the legalization of same-sex marriage is a necessary action to keep our nations view on equality. Although same-sex marriage is a recently approached issue, homosexual rights has been a subject in debate since its introduction to the mainstream since the 1960’s.
First, if we are to legalize same sex marriage, this would increase or adoption rate greatly. Same sex couples obviously cannot have a child on their own, but would instead need to adopt, find a surrogate, or find a sperm donor. According to "CCAI", around four thousand children in the U.S. do not have permanent homes and around one hundred thousand are eligible for adoption.(AFCARS Report, No. 20) Knowing this if same sex marriage is legalize there will be a great number of adoptions. This change can help us for preparing the next generation, for what is going to come. Instead of keeping them behind closed doors it will benefit them more to let them know that it is ok to be whoever they like. They do not have to seek societies goals, but instead seek their own
There are many opponents of gay people as it is, and they all have their reasons to dislike the idea of permitting them get married. One of the main reasons is that the primary purpose of marriage is procreation. Because gay couples are unable to have children, they should not be allowed to marry (Schiffen 495). Another main argument is that the word marriage means the union of one man and one woman. This is a long-standing theme of most major Western religions. Under a proposed bill known as the Defense of Marriage act, marriage is defined as “a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife.” Furthermore, it defines a spouse as “ a person of the opposite sex who is a husband or wife” (What 1). Under these guidelines, it is quite obvious that gay couples would not be eligible for marriage. People against homosexual marriage also say that it is a person’s choice to be gay. Since the individual chooses to be a homosexual, they should not be given special privileges. Another argument that you hear is that these couples should not get married simply because of the torment and ridicule they would be faced with in their everyday lives. There are news reports from across America telling about how a gay person was beaten or killed just because they were looked at as different. Some of these people would end up the target of verbal abuse and maybe even physical abuse, just because some heterosexual people see them as different.
Over the last years the topic of same-sex marriage has been of great importance to our society. The idea of the same gender being lawfully married is disturbing to a group of people but in the recent years the number of supporters has increased. The cases that argue for the legalization of same-sex marriage are focusing on the relationship of the individuals and do not see anything in same-sex marriage that could harm our society as a whole. The article “How the President go to ‘I Do’ on Same-Sex Marriage,” published by Joe Becker in April 2014, explains how Barack Obama started saying that he was undecided about the subject matter but is now leaning toward the legalization of same-sex marriage. The subject matter takes a lot of analyzing of what pros and cons are to come from the legalization of same-sex marriage. Same-sex marriage is a global argument that deals with unifying two individuals of the same gender under the law. The main reason that supporters give for justifying same-sex marriage is that it is for the same reason as straight people, to show love and commitment to each other. Furthermore, the argument of same-sex marriage is difficult to generalize because of the multiple factors that need to be taken in consideration when making any decision regarding this topic. Although Becker does have true premises, he lacks clarity in his terms which make his argument be false and invalid.
Gay marriage will soon start to decrease the population of the world because gay couples cannot reproduce so that will reduce the growth of humans and it will weaken the institution of marriage. For example, if people see that same sex marriage is acceptable they will think any kind of marriage is acceptable and appropriate, which it is not. There will be marriages between humans and...
In recent years, same-sex marriage has become a more controversial topic on whether it’s right or wrong. People should not feel coerced to agree with something they believe is wrong; clearly, same-sex marriage is immoral and unnatural. Many complications come with same-sex marriages including financial pressures, social pressures, moral pressures, and health risks.
Same- sex marriage has done nothing but turn the human race into a joke. Reproduction is the key to maintaining a society and continuing the human race. The future of humans will be at risk if homosexuality continues to be accepted and existent. Not only would the population suffer from same-sex couples, but the children of same-sex couples would suffer. Both boys and girls need a mother and a father, and without both there will be severe consequences that the innocent children involved will have to endure. Same-sex marriage is an unnatural practice that has begun to damage society.
