Gay and lesbian people should have the same rights as everyone else in America. They are being driven away from their rights due to some rumors that Christian observationalists have assumed because of their own religious morals. I feel as though gay and lesbian people should have their rights because they are not as horrid as they assumptions that Christian officials have made them out to be. Gay and lesbian people should be allowed to adopt children; therefore, by revealing the lies behind rumors pertaining to the reason why gay and lesbian people aren't allowed to adopt children will help to make for better reasoning to why they should be allowed to have children systematically. When reviewing over the criminal records covering child molestation, it is a 100% more likely chance that heterosexual people partake under the category. With this piece of evidence being a fact, it breaks the rumor, "Gay [and lesbian] people are more likely to rape the children they adopt." Typically, when people are forced to make up assumptions based off how others live, they are being motivated by an either past or religious influence; therefore, making them assume quickly on such a topic as this. Studies from Morehouse University's psychological theories group shows that less than 13% of married same sex couples have difficulty raising their opposite gender; whereas 32%, coming from the same state, have a difficulty raising their single child with both genders present in the home.Typically when people are denied their rights because of others' fear, the stress starts to become overwhelming and they start to fall align with that person's expectation; however, with gay and lesbian people, they are making strives more than the average hete... ... middle of paper ... ...due to what you have learned. Violent or discrimination of a group of people comes mainly from confusion, and in confusion come blind actions in fear of what seems to be unknown. `Works Cited "7 Myths About Arizona's Religious Freedom Law." Out of fifty states, only sixteen states allow gay adoptions while people in the other thirty-four states are either denied or sent to court to be determined by a complete stranger with no background information on the couple, whether or not they can take care of a child or not. According to “LGBT Adoption Statistics”, in 2012, 110,000 adopted children live with gay parents. Of the total amount of children in U.S. households, less than one percent lives with same-sex parents. If homosexuals were allowed to adopt, that one percent would rapidly increase. Sexual orientation of parents is not important when it comes to raising children; how the children are being raised and how the parents work together is what is truly important.
...eople must realize that the traditional family and relationship is no longer between a man and a woman. The dynamics of family is changing and the idea of homosexual parents adopting should be embraced because they help children that would otherwise be lost in the system by not being adopted.

Most people believe that they deserve the rights they are granted by the government. An upstanding citizen who pays their taxes, serves their community and abides by the law should be afforded the rights of an American. However, not all citizens are afforded equal rights. Gay and lesbians are constantly denied rights that are typically taken for granted by the average American. Specifically, gay and lesbians couples are denied the right to marry even if they are upstanding citizens. They are held at an unfair disadvantage simply because of their sexual orientation. This discrimination must end because gay and lesbian couples are law-abiding citizens too, who should be offered the same rights as heterosexual couples. Same sex marriage should be legalized because it is their civil rights, it encourages strong family value and leads to the increasing number of child adoption, and the same sex marriage also brings a lot of financial benefits.
Homosexual people do not want to have special privileges. They just want to have the same rights as heterosexuals, nothing more, and nothing less. Homosexuals are a growing minority with nearly a million gays and lesbians identifying themselves as members of same-sex couples in the 2000 census. But the total gay population is much larger, since the census didn’t provide an opportunity for single homosexuals to identify their sexual orientation, and didn’t count gay couples who live apart (Mason 1). There are no legitimate reasons why homosexuals should not have the same rights as heterosexuals. Our country disgraces itself when it “[…] accepts homosexuality as a sufficient cause for deprivation of normal civil rights […]” (Nava, Dawidoff 144). If a homosexual is United States citizen, they should receive the same rights as all other citizens, regardless of their sexual orientation. Gay men and lesbians deserve the right to marry, to not be discriminated against, and to be in the military.
Adoption is a very important part of the American lifestyle. The welfare of children needs to be put in front of homophobia. There are an estimated 500,000 children in foster care nation wide, and 100,000 of these children are awaiting adoption. In 2013, only one child of every six available for adoption was actually adopted. (Sanchez, 13) Statistics like these show the true importance of adoption. People seem to prefer to have their own children biologically, but adoption should be taken into consideration, even if natural conception is possible.
Gay marriage allows couples wanting children to adopt easier allowing children in need of stable homes a proper family to care for them. As stated in Pediatrics, studies revealed that children of lesbian moms were rated higher than children with heterosexual parents in social and academic competence and had fewer social problems. (Gartrell) This indicates homosexual couples are capable of raising children even if they are not their own flesh and blood. Ezra Klein had stated his opinion as, “We should be begging gay couples to adopt children. We should see this as a great boon that gay marriage could bring to kids who need nothing more than two loving parents." (Klein) Instead of letting children live their whole lives in foster care waiting for heterosexual parents to a...
As stipulated in the definition of Equal Rights, the bill of rights contains ten amendments. It is inside these ten amendments that the right to separation of church and state is held (Lewis 3). Since this is the case, based on this amendment, all homosexuals should be allowed to marry, no matter if it is against certain religions or not. When it comes to this particular topic though, religion is no longer disregarded, but is instead pushed to the forefront where it suddenly matters more than someone’s happiness. This is not an example of the freedom our country claims to give.
Same sex marriage should be legalized. Gays and lesbians deserve to have the same rights in their unions as heterosexuals have. It is important to legalize same sex marriage because:
The treatment of the LGBT community in American Society is a social injustice. What most people think is that they just want to be able to marry one another and be happy but that’s not it. They want to be treated like humans and not some weird creatures that no one has ever seen before. They want to be accepted for who them are and not what people want them to be and they deserve the right to be who they are just the same as any other human being. After all the discrimination they have endured they should be allowed to be who they are and be accepted as equals just like people of different skin color did in the times of segregation. We have a long way to go as a country but being the greatest country in the world in the eyes of many great America will make big steps to make things fair.

John F. Kennedy once said, “The rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened.” Same sex marriage should be legalized in the United States. The two main reasons for this are the unconstitutionality of denying same sex marriages and the fact that it is going against basic human rights.
