Throughout our history, science and technology continues to expand and thrive. A time period that shows a really good representation of this is during the Industrial Revolution that took place in the 18th and 19th century. The Industrial Revolution was a time of huge economic growth and change. There were some major changes regarding agriculture, manufacturing, transport and technology. The spread of the Industrial Revolution first started in the United Kingdom. It slowly made its way throughout Europe then onto North America. It did not take long until the Industrial Revolution made its way around the world. This event had a major impact on our history. As time pasts by, machinery and technology will continue to improve and advance.
As Mary Shelley was writing her novel Frankenstein, it was during the time period of the Industrial Revolution. Almost everyone was affected and the aspects of their daily lives were very much influenced by this. There was a notably increased in the average income and population. Instead of the traditional manual labor and animal-based economy, machine based manufacturing was really starting to take over. Machinery made the process of production a lot faster and more efficient. It allowed companies to mass produce within a little time frame. With the new concept of a manufacturing economy, technology and machinery began to dramatically increase and improve. As time went on, more and more machines were being built to help improve and make the the daily lives of workers a lot easier on them.
