On September 11, 2001, nearly three thousand people were killed when a plane crashed into the World Trade Center. There was one man behind this terrible tragedy that rocked the world’s foundations, and threatened the safety and security of humanity. Osama bin Laden, leader of Taliban group Al Qaeda, proudly accepted responsibility for the terrorist attacks carried out on the Pentagon, World Trade Center and the Capital building of the United States. With his acceptance of blame for this horrific event, the worldwide war on terrorism began. Bin Laden used his wealthy background and keen intelligence to create the largest and most dangerous criminal terrorist network on Earth, which adversely affected the United States and the world at large. Osama bin Laden rose from being from being a shrewd and calculating millionaire to public enemy number one, and his manipulation of fear as the leader of terrorist group Al Qaeda still influences the way we live our lives today.
Osama bin Laden’s creation of the terrorist group Al Qaeda influenced Saudi Arabia and the Middle East destructively. In 1991, the Saudi Arabia government forced bin Laden to leave Saudi, which led him to Khartoum, Sudan, where he established Al Qaeda headquarters. (Infoplease). This influenced other Islamic organizations to join Osama’s Jihadist movement against minorities in the Sudan. Osama bin Laden used the manipulative power of fear to control his followers in the Middle East, and to channel hatred towards Catholics and Jews. This horror and destruction grew as minorities such as different religious groups fought for their freedom from Jihadist rule, which causes even more bloodshed. As Al Qaeda grew, bin Laden became a “guest” of the Taliban, an Al Qaeda affiliat...

...ad, used by Al Qaeda to ignite the fear of the entire world. Nevertheless, Osama bin Laden has had an astounding impact on both the Middle East and our entire planet through his violent tactics of intimidation to control people through terror. The creation of Al Qaeda started a racial revolution throughout all of South Asia in which thousands of Jews, Catholics and Americans were slaughtered in order to promote Al Qaeda’s Jihadist beliefs, and this continues today. Similarly, the September 11 attacks on the United States have led to a prejudice against Muslims, increasing hate crimes against them and defiling public opinion of the entire Muslim race. Osama bin Laden used all his power and control to become the symbol of terrorism through his extremist organization Al Qaeda, and his legacy of fear and manipulation through terror still affects people across the globe.
Osama bin Laden was an adversary of the West for years and it was known to the whole world. Unfortunately, he took it a little further by having two planes fly into the World Trade Center, one into the Pentagon and another plane possibly for the White House. As we all know, this is the unforgettable day of September 11, 2001. Thousands of Americans were innocently murdered that day and in our own country by a terrorist organization. The United States of America would not stand for this and rapidly sought out Osama Bin Laden for what he had done to us. This is the day that caused the United States to accelerate the search and destruction efforts of bin Laden. Soon after September 11th, the United States was very involved in Afghanistan in trying to find him.
On September 11, 2001, many people’s lives were changed. Not only Americans, but Muslims and Islamist alike, were affected. (A Nation Challenged 80). Family members and friends were lost, lives were taken away, and New York City was torn to pieces. Two planes hit the Twin Towers, otherwise known as the World Trade Center. One plane was flown into the Pentagon located in Virginia. One last plane was flown into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania after being taken over by the passengers. The nineteen men who hijacked these planes were from the Islamist militant group known as al-Qaeda. (The 9/11 Commission Report). An editorial in the New York Times said, “It was one of those moments in which history splits, and we define the world as ‘before’ and ‘after’.”
In 1988 Osama bin Laden started the terrorist group al-Qaeda. Osama stole over 250 million dollars, and was already committing murders by then. In 1993 a bomb exploded in the World Trade Center area, the bomb was set off by al-Qaeda members. The bomb did not kill as many as the planes did, but killed up to 6 people and injuring many. In 1995 a bomb went off at a military base, and killed around 15 people, not only Americans were killed also Indian soldiers. In 1996 he called full jihad war on the US. Two years later he killed 224 people in a US embassy in Africa, and three years later his attack on US soil 9/11 was the US last straw. The reason for Osama’s killing wasn’t just because of 9/11 it was to prevent war on jihad that Osama had claimed on the US, if we wouldn’t have killed Osama in 2011 think about how many more terrorist attacks would have gone on in the

They chose a Tuesday because the flights where usually quiet. (Stewart 51). Before the attacks on 9/11 the hijackers all took flight lessons in the U.S. costing them $250 each time. (Stewart 53). The time they where taking flying lessons, some say that the hijackers hid the weapons in the airport. Most people say they had help on the inside (Stewart 51). Al-Qaeda is an international Islamist extremist terrorist network founded in the late 1980s by Osama bin Laden. Al Qaeda practiced an extreme version of the religion of Islam. The group is intensely opposed to the United States and other Western, democratic nations. They are especially against the military presence of these countries in Arab nations. Since the group’s creation by bin Laden in the late 1980s, Al Qaeda has helped coordinate and fund numerous bombings worldwide. Their aim had been to overthrow governments in the Middle East, and elsewhere in the Muslim world, which do not strictly enforce a religiously sanctioned political and social order. Attacks against the United States were intended to cut American support for many of these governments; U.S. support was viewed by al-Qaeda as a major obstacle to creating a global order under Islamic
Islamic terrorists hold resentment against the west, and they use the Quran as justification for their heinous acts. Since the 1930s, the U.S. has been directly involved with the Middle East to protect its supply of oil. Due to American and Western intervention in the Middle East, Osama Bin Laden had plans to attack the U.S. starting in the 1990s. In fact, Al-Qaeda bombed the World Trade Center parking garage in 1993, planning to bring down the twin towers, but failed and killed six people. Al-Qaeda’s main goal of the attacks was to cripple the U.S.’s main centers of power, including Wall Street, the Pentagon, and the White House. In Sheikh Mohammed’s words, the goal was to “wake the American people up.” In 1998, Osama bin Laden signed the fatwā, a declaration of war against America. In this document, he listed
Although al Qaeda had some failures in the past, his leader Osama Bin Laden was able to effectively lead the organization and make it into one of the world’s largest terrorist organizations. His charismatic leadership; his willingness to lead by example; his education; and his father’s inheritance were key factors that helped him have success as the leader of al Qaeda. Osama Bin Laden’s ability to communicate and exert influence upon various audiences could be compared and contrasted with how the CEO of a transnational company would communicate his ideology, thoughts, and messages to influence his employees and others outside the company so that the company can grow and become stronger.
Osama bin Laden Islamic culture was more than just his religion, it was a key feature in his political beliefs and would influence every decision he came across. Bill Bonner said, “Once upon a time, Osama bin Laden was one of the ‘good guys’ — backed by the CIA — when he was fighting with the mujahideen. Then he became the baddest of bad guys when he formed al-Qaeda and turned against America.” When he turned against America he was involved in the 1998 bombings on the U.S. Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania and on September 11, 2001 he attacked the Pentagon and the World Trade Center. After that, he died on May 2, 2011 and he
