2. The Business Summary
Extravaganza is a small business specifically aimed at the working class “blue collar” world. It is going to be home-based in Jersey City, NJ and with plans to branch off to other areas in New Jersey in the future. Extravaganza is a “first class” party planning company with “coach” type affordability. We will specialize in weddings, baby showers, Sweet Sixteen, Quinceneras (Sweet 15), bridal showers, and reunions. The reason why I decided to start up this type of business is because Jersey City is rapidly growing. From my experience people in this area do not particularly care too much about using a party planner because of the cost. They would rather spend less and stress more. Extravaganza will show them that at a reasonable cost they can have the party they always wanted.
Extravaganza will be offering lower prices and flexibility compared to others. Our staff will be multi-cultural and will be able to cater to everyone’s needs no matter what your nationality might be. We will build ...

A quinceañera is an event that is celebrated worldwide. The term “quinceañera” means fifteenth years in English. It’s an extravagant birthday bash for a young lady turning the age of fifteen.”Celebrating my quince años meant beginning a life of a new adult. It has also given me much more responsibility for my own actions” (Xochitl Comparan, Victoria, Texas). This event is celebrated differently by many diverse cultures, and as time goes by some of the traditions change. Even though the traditions may alter, the whole point for this eventful activity stays the same. The point for this event is to recognize the young lady’s transition from childhood to womanhood. This is also known as “the coming of age.” On this one day, it’s all about the girl, nothing else matters! Organizing one of these events is a very expensive and lengthy process. It takes a lot of time and dedication. There’s a lot to be incorporated in the huge event; such as planning the ceremony, every decoration detail for the reception, all the traditions that must happen during the day, and most importantly to figure out who will be a part of this ritual.
Be Our Guest, Inc. is a Boston based company that rents out party equipment for events within the Boston metropolitan area. Founder, Steve Lizio , initially started the company in 1983 with a sole purpose of providing wait staff to catering companies. However, as time proceeded it became apparent to expand the company by evolving it into a rental equipment company that provided rental services of tables, chairs and other miscellaneous items pertaining to hosted events. Typically expected in relatively new companies, the company operated at a loss during the first quarter, however as demand increased exponentially during the second and fourth quarter of the year, sales revenue spiked accounting for two- thirds

A Cuban tradition that is practiced is when a girl turns fifteen. "This day is more important than her wedding," said the girl's proud father. "She goes from being a girl to a woman." This day is known as the girl’s “quince.” On this day, she would get all Dressed in a pink flowing gown and glittering crown. The girl stood at the entrance to a huge ballroom where friends and family waited to celebrate her 15th birthday. For rural Cubans, the celebration means selling a pig, taking a few photographs of the birthday girl, and holding a street party with homemade brew. Others hire a professional photographer to shoot the girl in colonial-style dresses, a bathing suit, bathrobe and other attire and also produce a video. For Cuba's wealthy few, the “quince” involves hiring a choreographer, room designer, videographer, disc jockey, makeup artist, hairstylist and others to throw an elaborate party at a five-star hotel or upscale restaurant.
Tita and Nancha had to work restlessly to accommodate for the large crowd attending the party. Making all the food, as well as making/getting the right bridal dress takes up a lot of time and a lot of work. This reflects itself to wedding today where the bride and groom have to work with a network of people organizing every detail of their special day. The time put in and the effort require really makes the day quite eventful, if done right, and miserable, if done
