Euthanasia is one of the most perplexed issues in the medical field due to the clash of ethical perspectives. Nowadays, the lives of many patients can be preserved with the latest revelations in treatments and technology. But we still are unable to find a remedy for all illnesses, and patients have to go through profoundly difficult, painful and expensive treatments only to have a short amount of extra time. These patients struggle with physical and psychological pain. Due to the high cost of treatment, few have total control of their lives, and the only option is to live a short duration with painful treatments. People should have the right, with certain restrictions, to culminate their lives in the best way possible to stop the suffering of an illimitable pain. Society should have compassion and respect for the patient's decision when life becomes unbearable. We have the right and moral obligation to euthanize our beloved pets when they are suffering and in pain... why are we not morally obligated to provide the same options for ourselves and our loved ones who have no quality of life? Euthanasia comes from the Greek words Eu: "good" and Thanatos:"death". It is the action of terminating intentionally the life of a human being to eliminate suffering in his/her benefit. when someone has a terminal illness, all the types of treatments have been practiced, nothing works and the endless pain of the patient still exists. euthanasia could be an option, depending on the case. for instance, someone is in a coma attributable to brain stoppage, thus his life is meaningless to that person.
