Good afternoon, let me just start by saying that the kindness, support, friendship, and love extended to me and my family during this difficult time has really touched my heart- we are sincerely appreciative!

During the last moments of my mother’s life she was surrounded by loved ones, as she slowly slipped away into the morning with grace and peace.

I can’t begin to express how hard it is for me to stand here before you and give my last respects to my loving mother - name here. From the biography that was handed out you can recall that during the her early years in the united states she studied and worked in New York where she met and married my dad, the love of her life. They spent the rest of their days loyal and in love with one another. Unfortunately, one day my father passed away with cancer at a young age. My dad was the one who suffered the most, but my mom suffered right along with him. She felt powerless, and for my mom- powerlessness turned in to guilt and grief, a painful distress she lived with on a daily basis for the next six years. When he died part of her died! Life for her was never the same again. I was not able to completely understand her loss- until now…

Throughout my life my mom has always been selfless and generous- especially when it came to her children and grandchildren… ever putting her self last! SHE WAS MY EVERYTHING… Unlike my sister, I was the one that gave my parents their grey hair… It took me longer than most to mature, and the truth is- that’s putting it mildly. Yet through all the ups and downs, and all the times I would end up disappointing her expectations of me, one thing NEVER

changed and that was her belief in me… because of her unconditional love I am the person that I am today… her reassurance and patience made all the difference.

Because of her active involvement in my life and Eileen’s she became known to our friends as “Mama”. Where ever we would go- she would go with us, that’s just the way it was… she got so close to our friends that they formed their own friendship with her.

Eulogy for Mother Essay - Eulogy for Mother The Cost Death is not too high a price to pay for having lived.  Mountains never die, nor do the seas or rocks or endless sky. Through countless centuries of time, they stay eternal, deathless.  Yet they never live. If choice were there, I would not hesitate to choose mortality.  Whatever Fate demanded in return for life I’d give, for never to have seen the fertile plains nor heard the winds nor felt the warm sun on sands beneath a salty sea, not touched the hands of those I love – without these, all the gains of timelessness would not be worth a day of living and of loving; come what may.” - Dorothy N....   [tags: Eulogies Eulogy] 1142 words

Essay on Eulogy for Mother - Eulogy for Mother My mother gave me a very special gift before she left. A gift that I don't need to decide how to pass down & divide evenly to my 3 beautiful children (her grandchildren Jessica, Emily and Julia) A gift that I don't need to worry about keeping on a safe shelf so it doesn't break. My mother (and father) gave me the gift of faith. Anyone who knew my mother knew she always prayed. Over these past few days my brothers and I have discussed this and wondered how many hours during the day she prayed....   [tags: Eulogies Eulogy] 429 words

Essay on Eulogy for Mother - Eulogy for Mother Daughter of Teresa, granddaughter of Josefa, my mother, Natividad was born in El Paso, Texas on December 24th, 1921. She always told us that she was responsible for the rest of her sisters being born in this country. The family was on its way back to México because PD had closed the mine and was sending workers back to México. The family never got there because of my mother’s birth. She was the only one in her family who was not born in Morenci and although she made sure people knew she was born in Texas, she was very proud to be a “Morenci girl.” When I asked family members to describe my mother, they used many of the same terms: a private person, very shy, meek, humble...   [tags: Eulogies Eulogy] 2193 words

Eulogy for Son Essay - Eulogy for Son I'd like to thank you all for the outpouring of support and condolences on the loss of my beautiful son Adam. My entire family appreciates it. This is my eulogy to Adam: Depression is a terrible disease. Adam suffered so much with a disease that often goes unrecognized as very serious, or even as a disease, but is often fatal. Many people who meet someone like Adam think all he needs is tough love - how wrong they are. To those who have never had this disease, you cannot imagine how frightening the demons are, how they take over your life, your every thought, your every action....   [tags: Eulogies Eulogy] 582 words

Eulogy for Son Essay - Eulogy for Son First I would like to say thank you for the tremendous outpouring of love and affection from our community at last night’s viewing for John. Roger at the funeral home told us this was the largest turnout he can remember. Close to 1,000 friends—and many people who were merely touched by John’s story—waited up to fours hours in the rain to pay their respects. We want you to know how very grateful and very touched we were by the response. As Congressman Johnson said in his tribute to John, entered into the Congressional Record, John truly was one of our nation’s best and brightest and dearest sons....   [tags: Eulogies Eulogy] 1827 words

Eulogy for Father Essay - Eulogy for Father On behalf of my entire family, I want to thank all of you for your compassion and for being present here today. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Mauri-Lynne, and I'm Lionel's daughter. Dad was devoted to every one of you. We all hope that you'll share your memories of him with us, if not today then in the weeks and months to come. My father was committed to the practice and preservation of Jewish life. His religious beliefs informed everything he did. Particularly fond of traditional music, he and I spent many hours listening to the treasured recordings he'd collected over the years....   [tags: Eulogies Eulogy] 1178 words

Essay Eulogy for Father - Eulogy for Father "I have been having a lot of feelings since my father's illness and death and we will see how long the feelings will allow me to speak. By far the biggest feeling I have had has been gratefulness. Gratefulness to have stood in the shade of my father's tree. Because to me my father was like a tree in many ways. An oak tree. An oak who's taproot was anchored in faith and in the Divine, and with branches and leaves that act as a home for those around. I stood in that home and for that I am so grateful....   [tags: Eulogies Eulogy] 947 words

Eulogy for Son Essay - Eulogy for Son It has become immensely clear to me that words cannot adequately or sufficiently describe the meaning and value of Michael's short life. However, I have a compelling need to tell you of the things you already know about Michael. From my perspective as his father, I can say that I am so very proud of Michael; not because he studied and worked hard in school as I wanted--he didn't; not because he attained great awards as I wanted--he didn't achieve these either. Michael found his own direction and accomplished more meaningful things in his short life....   [tags: Eulogies Eulogy] 707 words

Essay on Eulogy for Mother - Eulogy for Mother Thank you all -- for coming to commemorate my mother’s life. Before I go on to celebrate my mother and what she stood for I must share with you the reality of what life was like for my mother and the family since she was first diagnosed with cancer in October. Of course, nobody suffered more than my mother, but Dad you’re definitely second. We all shared my mother’s pain. I’d like to leave you all with this quote, by Helen Keller. She said, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart”

IF, by the end of her life, my mother ended up touching all of your hearts ----then I ask you, what else can anyone ask for in this world, but to touch people’s hearts.

Thank you, Mom. I love you always.
