The second state I have chosen to write about is the beautiful state of Yucatan. It has been a pleasure living here and although Yucatan is considered to be part of Mexico it has developed as if it was its own country. Having so many different cultures influencing it you can see the European, American and Mexican influences in the food, architecture and History that Yucatan has. Yucatan has been in the middle of many great battles, diplomatic situations and conquest. It has been a privilege to see the Mayan, Spanish and Mexican influences collide with each other. I have seen how indigenous people still fight to preserve their language but understand that the world is evolving with or without them, which forces many to learn multiple languages. Yucatan is filled with a different amount of languages you have French, English, Spanish, Mayan and a whole bunch of many different languages mostly having to do with Having one of the seven wonders of the modern world which is Chichen itza.
Yucatan has a vast amount of history that there has literally been books written about it. I will hit some main points on this. To start off the most notable influence on history to date has been the Architectural and historic contributions that the Mayans have given to these states. I mention up above that Chichen Itza is one of the Seven Wonders of the World that it because the amount of work that the Mayans put in has stood the test of time. One of the most amazing contributions has been the great pyramid and temples built in many of these great and wonderful cities that show how clever they really were. ...estinations. This has lead to heavily invested regions of Yucatan which has brought many name brand name stores and restaurant chains.
Nayarit and Yucatan have proven to be beautiful destinations and rich in history. These two states separated by hundreds of miles have proven to have similar concepts but no similar context. The reason being is they both had indigenous influences in what and who there people are today. The foods and traditions that have came from these two states are both unique a portray there agriculture and livestock from the heavy porked based products to the yummy catch of the day on there coastlines. These two places have become Vacation destinations worldwide from the ruins in Yucatan to the snorkeling in Nayarit. These two states demonstrate the beautiful side of Mexico instead of what we see on the news that only occurs in certain regions.
