I am curious about technology. Understanding how one thing is made as well as why it has been made this way, used to be an important “ingredient in my dish” to alleviate my technology addiction. The fervent desire for knowledge is always pushing me to discover the cutting edge frontier of technology transformation, I cannot give up revealing the complexity concealed by its simplicity.
My pursuit of Master degree in Human Centered Design and Engineering at Washington University, with focus in Human Computer Interaction and User Experience, is the natural outgrowth of my artistic creativity interacting with my great interests in technology and engineering, given the projects I have worked on, the research I am engaged in, and the combination of my desire to work in the field and my passion for learning about the element of the study I believe matters the most: the users.
HCDE is the perfect program enables me to engage in the research of the interactions between human and technology. Besides an interdisciplinary emphasis, I appreciate the practical focus of the program with its team based approach to project work. Through my work experiences I’ve discovered the importance of being able to effectively collaborate with people from a wide range of backgrounds. This is particularly true at La Mode en Images (LMI), one the world famous fashion production agencies, where I worked on projects with employees and teams all over the world with a diversity of experiences. This community contributed their thoughts, skills and inspirations to the unique and spectacular events or fashion shows such as the Louis Vuitton A/W 2012 Collection show in Shanghai, which the team had built a railway station and a movable train in a month; the Christia...

I'm convinced that HCDE Master of Science program is the perfect opportunity for me to grow stronger as a user experience designer, making innovative experiences and products simpler and better, that I'll make the best use of both my established experience and my natural inclination for design.

Stanford University held a boot camp: Design Thinking Boot Camp: From Insights to Innovation. This boot camp was held at The Hasso Plattner Institute of Design, and offered a three day immersive program that was specifically aimed for executives. It provide the opportunity o learn the concept of “design thinking”. In this boot camp the speaker educated the attendees on the different avenues of design thinking, and how they can

With a degree in interior design there are so many possible careers that people may not even realize from furniture design, commercial design or even event planning. The two main categories of jobs in the interior design field are commercial and residential; healthcare design falls under both, but it’s most commonly thought of in the commercial sense. In a residential way, healthcare design can include accessibility design for people with disabilities, elderly people or even people under hospice care. With commercial healthcare design the categories covered are much more extensive, from every room in a hospital, to doctor’s offices, and even general ADA requirements that every public building must meet. Not only does the field of interior design
Working as an educator and in various consulting roles over the past seventeen years, I have had the opportunity to experience how technology is disrupting so many spaces, ranging from politics to toothpaste. I have enjoyed working with and discovering how teams of people develop technological solutions on the back end, onboard and engage users on the front end, improve their products through feedback, and take calculated risks to drive their companies and/or products forward. Most recently, I am proud of the work I am doing on two
In today’s rapidly increasing technological and post-modern environment where we are constantly being called upon to quickly grasp, rearrange, create and integrate new devices, ideas, and concepts that harmonize and fuses many different backgrounds

The most important class of my high school career has been “Spark! Technology Solutions,” a selective, district-wide program run by the Parkway School District in which a small group of students isare immersed in a professional environment, solving real world problems and working on client-defined projects and tasks for real businesses. In this class I have spent the last two years doing independent study in numerous areas of technology, including graphic
Learning is a continuous process and the day that you stop learning is the day that you start decreasing your rewards and lower levels of satisfaction. My ardent desire to acquire knowledge has motivated me to pursue higher studies at graduate level, and to take up a career in research in industry. I have taken this decision after carefully considering my academic background, profound interest in research and strong aptitude for problem solving.
Art and design are huge aspects of life today, and it influences everyone. Whether we realize it or not, there are signs all around us of trained professionals from art-related industries (Hennessey). Art and design careers can take forms that many people may not have thought about: people with art and design degrees find work in nearly every industry imaginable, in roles that didn’t even exist ten or fifteen years ago (“Art and Design Careers”). Industries and related careers are constantly expanding, providing art and design students with new opportunities. Possibilities for art and design careers are nearly infinite, and and they’re always growing.
At the dawn of the information age, to be young, as Wordsworth said in another context, is very heaven. Getting to know what goes inside computers, the engines of the Information Technology revolution, and knowing how to work with them enables one to understand the technology that makes it all possible. Understanding this, I chose to do my undergraduate study in Electronics and Communications engineering.
There is no doubt that the accomplishments made through technology are astonishing. Technology has made amazing impacts on everything from science in space to medical science to the devices we use every day that make our lives easier. People are living longer and better than ever before, but we can’t forget how to live without it. “Just because technology is there and makes something easier doesn’t mean we should rely on it so much that we can’t think for ourselves,” (Levinson).
Being well acknowledged about the above saying has pushed me a mile further for every aspect of my life. The four year engineering course in Information Technology has always been a beautiful experience and has inspired me to put the knowledge into my Masters degree. This would allow me to enhance my knowledge about technology and its pros and cons and the guidance I would need. Gone are those days when man had to slog for simple works, he has advanced into boundaries which are unimaginable and has made his life easy, being an essential part of such an advancement has always been my motive. To attain my goal, my first priority would be in the field of research which will consist experiencing the applications in the real world steered by comprehensive know-how about technology. Technology has prevailed and casted its spell to parts unknown and now has been imbibed into man.
As rightly said by Hippocrates “The life so short, the craft so long to learn”. I believe that a good mix of talent and dependability are a crucial and potent mix for success. Honing my skills with a Masters’ degree after completing my Bachelors’ Degree In Physiotherapy, I believe would help me develop an array of cross functional skills. Gaining technical expertise in the subject of physiotherapy and then whetting my skills during my internship, taught me to be precise and scrupulous towards every task at hand. Having successfully pursued this field for nearly 5 years, I believe that, if given a chance, these skills endow me with the knowledge to gain an opportunity to pursue higher studies at your prestigious university.
This perfectly holds true for me in the world of Computer Engineering where novel ideas are not a novelty. It is this novelty that entices me to this field and gives me a deep sense of professional pride. In this context, I would like to pursue my graduation in Computer Engineering, which not only supplements the knowledge that I possess but also provides a strong platform for my future career goals.
