Job Outlook Overall employment of kindergarten, elementary, and secondary school teachers is expected to increase faster than the average for all occupations through the year 2005, fueled by dramatic growth among special education teachers. However, projected employment growth varies among individual teaching occupations. Job openings for all teachers are expected to increase substantially by the end of the decade as the large number of teachers now in their forties and fifties reach retirement age. In fact, enrollments in teacher training programs already have increased in recent years. In addition, more teachers should be available from alternative certification programs. Some central cities and rural areas have difficulty attracting enough teachers, so job prospects should continue to be better in these areas than in suburban districts.

In my opinion, the U.S. – Canadian dispute was extremely motivated by genuine desires to protect Canadian culture. Government of Canada was quite serious in terms of protecting its culture from foreign influence. Even though Canadian magazines were less produced domestically still the government recognizes it “as an important touchstone of Canadian national identity”. In favor of Canadian culture, governmentof Canada took a decision “In1920s, imposed protective tariffs on foreign magazines. In 1965 also, Canada furthermore prohibited the importation of split-run editions of foreign-published magazines into their country”.
the production of magazines turned into a trade dispute with the United States. Canada tried to protect their culture through magazine production by establishing tariffs and prohibitions on foreign magazines. This caused American magazine producers to begin creating split-run editions of Canadian magazines. In 1995, Canada raised taxes on spilt-run publications which violated the World Trade Organization’s principle of non-discrimination between foreign and domestic producers.(www.globalization101.org) When the WTO ruled Canada tax on foreign publications was discriminatory Canada accepted the decision. Later in the 1998 Canada tried a new method to protect it magazine industry by creating Bill C-55 which prohibited foreign publishers from supplying advertising services to Canadian market. (www.about.com)This only created new problems in trade between Canada and the United States. This disputes were later settle with a new modified versions of the bill that both countries agreed to.
High school teachers’ average salary varies across the world. The United States is said to be one of the richest countries in the world, yet our teachers are being paid one of the lowest amounts. The Education Intelligence Agency, author of the article “Ohio Teacher Overcomes Union’s Tolerance” published an International Teacher Salary Report ranking the fifty states by “how much the average salary exceeded per capita personal income.” According to the Education Intelligence Agency Ohio’s percentage rate is only fifty- five point one percent. According to the Education Intelligence Agency the lowest state percentage is in South Dakota at twenty- three point six percent and the highest state percentage is Alaska at one hundred and one point five percent. Teachers are a very important part of our society. Teachers’ jobs consist of more than just sitting behind a desk for nine months and having paid summers off. There are many extra tasks that teachers have that most people don not consider. Teachers in public schools work hard for a low salary and should be more appreciated; public school teachers shape the world’s young people, serve as role models, and work long hours.
In the early 1930’s, the inception of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) came about in response to overwhelming American broadcasting and a concern that Canada would be dominated by U.S culture (Manera, T., 2015, The CBC: Past, Present, and Future, paras. 2-3). The CBC is different from other broadcasters in that it is publicly funded and as a result must aim to be reflective of all Canadians and be representative of both languages. In addition to this mandate, the CBC must be accountable to parliament and transparent with its use of public funds (Menard, M., 2016. CBC/Radio Canada).
Two years ago, I embarked on a journey that would teach me more than I had ever imagined. As a recent college graduate, I was thrilled to finally begin my teaching career in a field I have always held close to my heart. My first two years as a special education teacher presented countless challenges, however, it also brought me great fulfillment and deepened my passion for teaching students with special needs. The experiences I have had both before and after this pivotal point in my life have undoubtedly influenced my desire to further my career in the field of special education.
Salary schedules for public school teachers are almost a common feature in public school districts. These schedules largely determine the salaries for the teachers. A single district schedule sets the pay for hundreds of thousands of teachers in thousands of schools (Besharov 1). The key factor that influences the pay for the teachers in the salary schedules include experience in terms of years and the total number of graduate course works that a teacher has completed. This paper will look at the cons and pros of the salary schedules in terms of an economic point of view.
A secure and stable job “attracts many teachers to the teaching profession, and eliminating teacher tenure would hamper teacher recruitment” (“Teacher Tenure - ProCon.org,” 2017). The greater the number of teachers, the more teachers there will be for students decreasing overcrowding in classrooms. It also aids in decreasing unemployment because it will prompt individuals to teach since there is the security of keeping their jobs. Additionally, it “encourages the careful selection of qualified and effective teachers” (“Teacher Tenure - ProCon.org,” 2017). School administrators and higher-ups in the school system look carefully in identifying the best teachers that encourage learning and bring back promising test results to keep to have every child succeed. They want to choose the best out of the best, so their school can continue promoting quality and secure education for students to prosper and exceed in future schooling. Although a teacher tenure is beneficial for the community, it also proves to be very useful for students
Training should be implemented on IEP’s and modifications and accommodations for general education teachers. General education teachers should also be trained on utilizing the special education teachers experience in modifying, accommodating, and differentiated instruction. We are a team and the goal we are working for is for all of our students on our campus to be successful, general education and special education students.
According to data gathered by the National Center for Education Statistics in 2015, there are about 50.1 million public school students and 3.1 million teachers in the United States. When the number of teachers is not enough to meet the demand for teaching, the student/teacher ratio will raise. My main reason for wanting to become a teacher is because I think children deserve a thorough education and I want to give it to them. This research will explore the issue of, teacher recruitment, retention and attrition. This research includes the need for more qualified teachers in the United States. This research will point out which areas need teachers the most and which need them the least. Another topic that is being brought to light is what the government is attempting to do to fix the problem, and if it has had any effect.
The jobs of teaching professionals are on the rise and they are only going to continue to be readily available. As the population increases and the school enrollments increase, teachers are going to be needed more and more. There is always going to be a larger need for preschool teachers due to the increasing want of early education. Also special education teachers and elementary school teachers will be needed almost as fast since there is the increase of early education. These teaching fields all go hand in hand and one could not survive without the others

There are numerous careers related to special needs, all of which require different schooling, training, mentorships, and other types of preparation. Any type of job working with children with mental and physical disabilities can be challenging but also very rewarding when one sees the child improve (Tyrer, 2007). Different types of careers affect special needs children in different ways. For example a teacher will help them thrive in school, while other careers may help the kids improve at home or in a public setting. Special needs workers should be creative, flexible, and personable to be able to meet the needs of the child and also provide useful information for the child’s parents. It is important for one to at least complete minimal required training so one will be fully prepared to work with a child with any type of delay. Often children in schools do not improve at a higher rate because their teacher may not have the necessary training to assist them (Marković, 2014). No matter what special needs career someone chooses, everyone should have one common goal: to help special needs children thrive. Marković from the article “Work with Kids with Special Needs” puts it perfectly when she states, “the main aim is that children with disabilities get the chance to grow, learn, and socialize with children with normal development, and that these children can adapt and learn together with children with special needs. In this way, they develop understanding, tolerance, and humanity” (Marković,
“Teaching is often a difficult process, but the end result is very rewarding. Watching a child develop confidence and seeing a student progress in their studies is a very exciting process. Teaching young children is especially great because it is setting a foundation for life-long learning.”(Chronicle guidance publications). What is teaching? A teacher is a person who provides education for pupils (children), or students (adults) using lectures, audiovisual aids, demonstrations, and computers to present academic, social, and motor skills. Teachers can also teach foreign languages, art, kids with special needs, and P.E. Teaching has changed a lot compared to the traditional methods of just lectures and textbooks. Students now are encouraged to actively learn through groups or individual projects. They have learning games, debates, and experiments to help them through the learning process. Being a teacher would be a great career for anyone who wants to further themselves, to help people, and to have great benefits (chronicle guidance publications).
