Whether it is the Clash of the Titans or the Amazing Spider-Man, We can see in both of these wonderful movies have many similarities and differences. Despite the fact that the clash of the titans was made in 1981, and the amazing Spiderman in 2012, both have one thing in common, the protagonists Perseus and peter parker, respectively, they both fight for love. Also we can see differences in the special effects, which are dramatically different and more improved in the amazing Spiderman. Since Perseus is a mythology god, and peter parker a normal human-being, the setting in both films tend to be way different. Because of the protagonists, drama, romance, the setting, and the special effects, the amazing spider man is a superior film than the clash of the titans. Both main characters in these movies are young. Peter parker is a shy photographer interested in science. He goes to high school like any other teenager, but he acquires arachnid powers when a spider bites him in a scholar trip. On the contrary, Perseus doesn’t have many human friends. Instead, we see Perseus interacting with a gold mechanical owl named Bubo. Also captured and trained a winged horse named Pegasus to kill Medusa and the Kraken. In both of these movies, the amazing Spiderman and the clash of the titans, the protagonists are young and they do whatever they can in order to be with the girl of their dreams. They both peter and Perseus have the common persistence, encourage and talent. In both movies we can see the drama related to the parents of the protagonists. For the movie to be unique, it has the events in a different order. When readers read The Odyssey one character that appears in the middle of the piece is Teiresius. What makes the movie different from the novel is that the character Teiresius shows up closer to the beginning. Another example that makes the two pieces different from one another is the crew they travel along with. Odysseus’ crew actually all die off, but Pete and Delmar never die and stick by Everett for the whole movie.

The great wars affected many by its poisonous grasps, and its victims sought comfort with the antidote provided by the marvelous illustrators and writers of comic books. The movie Clash of the Titans is primarily a story of Perseus and his dangerous journey to save the princess Andromeda, while the Edith Hamilton’s Mythology is a story of Perseus, his relationship with his mother and journeys to her.
The first moderately successful Marvel film was X-Men, this was the first time that the superhero genre made a successful transition from the comic book to the silver screen. It was a movie that was enjoyable not only just for fans but for non-fans of the comics as well. X-Men was released in 2000, the budget for the film was $75 million, which is incredibly lowed compared to the average movie budget which is between $120-200 million these days. The Box office total for the film was $296,339,527, which back in 2000 would have been a rather respectable box office take. Something to keep in mind about this movie is that the computer generated special effects that are so common in movies today, were rather under developed, which would lend to the smaller budget as well as the more practical effects that are featured in the movie. This is also why the film feels rather bland when one goes back and watches it now, there was a lot of walking and talking in this film, not much action.

The Greek gods valued physical strength over love whereas modern society today values love over physical strength which has become an essential element of pop culture. Thus, this evolution serves as the foundation of why Disney had to make alterations to their plot, characters, peripheral details, and the notion of being a true hero. Without such alterations, younger audiences would not be able to relate to the story and therefore, not be able to gain a valuable lesson from it. In addition, these alterations allow for the movie to blend in smoothly with pop culture, where "love" is one of the most abundant aspects of entertainment.
My original thought when comparing Percy Jackson and the Olympians: the Lightning Thief the movie and Classical mythology was that there would be many more references to the myth of Perceus than any other myth throughout the movie in its entirety. That’s where I was wrong. After watching the movie again and researching the different hero myths my opinion has changed. My new thoughts are that the movie is not influenced by the myth of Perceus any more than other hero myths. The movie ties together many different heroes’ stories and mixes them together to make a wonderful story about a young boy. The movie was based on a book series written by Rick Riordan.

We all have heard of Spider Man. He was the average teenager until he was bitten by a radioactive spider. I like Spider Man but I believe there are a lot of things missing in his movies. The police and government are portrayed poorly, as to assisting Spider Man or lack there of. Spider Man goes about doing his own thing, outside of the law. He is something we can all relate to and I believe that is why a lot of people like him. Most people would say they want to be like Spider Man because of his cool super human powers. I believe it would be a lot of hard work, dedication, and a lot of responsibility. Think about this, you would have two lives to live as a completely different person. You would have to keep up good grades, make some money to live on, support your family in one life, then save people, fight crime, and kill villains in the other life. It would be way to overwhelming for me.

I perfer the movie version because it has more action and I enjoy action filled movies. What I especailly like about the movie is the sacrifice scene because its so dramatic with the townspeople rushing around and Andromeda willing to sacrifice herself to save the people who don 't even care about her or havent even gave it a thought they just automatically say kill her. Another reason I like the movie is the Medusa scene because nobody who watches greek mythology based movies know exactly what she looks like and this movie probably gives a believable version of her. My preference is because from reading the story then watching the movie its creative on how they put it togther without making it look like a horrible
