She also discusses how HIndley plans to kill Heathcliff, so that he can have all the power and fortunes, but she thinks it’s a bad idea therefore asking Nelly to come to Wuthering Heights to see her. She asks for Heathcliff to forgive her for everything she caused him, but he says he cannot give her forgiveness because she made it hard for him to forgive. Edgar comes back home, but Catherine asks Heathcliff not to leave. He stays with her as Edgar comes towards her room Nelly yells and Catherine faints. Heathcliff goes to catch her and puts her into Edgar’s arms when he gets into the room. Nelly pushes Heathcliff out and tells him she will keep him updated on Catherine. Heathcliff states he will stay in the garden, so that he can be close to Catherine. Catherine has her baby, but it is born a couple months too early. Catherine dies hours after giving birth and Nelly tells Heathcliff although he kind of already knows. Edgar protects Catherine’s body during the night and Heathcliff hangs around the garden.
