Biking Mountain biking can bring you places, and new experiences that you would never see or do if you didn't bike. Biking has taken me new places such as whistler B.C which is just one example of the amazing places biking has taken me. Biking has been around since 1817 when a German man by the name of German Baron Karl Von Drais, but they didn't become popular until the late 1800s.(associates 2010) Even though it can be dangerous, and there are risks, in the end if you take it easy biking will help you. Biking will snap you into shape if you ride enough, and it brings you places plus you get to see new things. Studies show that 90% of all active Canadian mountain bikers are in shape. Just a wild guess that the 10% that are not in shape are probably not riding as much as the ones that are in shape. If you are not in shape I highly recommend mountain biking as a fun way to get in shape, and even if you are fit biking is still a fun way to get your daily dosage of exercise. There is mountain biking, road biking, and cyclocross biking. All different types of biking are fun. Any one that you pick you can make easy or hard depending on where you ride and how your ride. A road bike is a bike you ride on roads. It has much skinnier tires then mountain bikes because it needs a different type of grip. Also there is no front or back suspension because there is no big bumps or rocky hills. Road rides are usually much longer and will take you where you want to go faster. A cyclocross bike is a cross between a road bike, and a mountain bike. It has the tires of a mountain bike with lots of rubber traction, but it still has the skinny rims like a road bike. Also it has a more flexible frame which will be a little help since there's no suspension on the bike. A mountain bike is a bike with front suspension and back suspension it is used to take on dirt trails and rocky bumpy
