To improve my research findings due to the weak nature of my variables, I will ask individuals in society specific questions on their perceptions about wealth accumulation and their highest level of education obtained, along with what class they perceive themselves to be in. My dependent variable is wealth accumulation, with my independent variables being ‘highest level of education attained’ and your ‘perceived social class’. I have broken down my independent variables to two answers unlike the World Value Survey which has numerous answers for each independent variable. Petersburg Police Department to ask for information and knowledge about where the homeless tend to congregate and live. There are several of these areas in the area, but the best sources for this information will be these individuals. Based upon these answers, I will physically then go to those areas, with questionnaires that ask these questions and pass them out to ask 100 homeless individuals. To keep my survey from bias based upon gender, I will find 50 men, and 50 women to make sure I am equally representative of both genders. After finding these values in their respective areas, we will divide them accordingly and come up with a standard for the different classes, based upon what the assessed values of homes are, a break down of 10% should be sufficient to attain this. I will then locate 100 individuals, split evenly among men and women, in the following areas: low class, middle class, and high class. These individuals will then be called and asked the same questions as above. I will once more record their answers and incorporate this into my research, with the idea of gaining even further knowledge about the perceptions of people on wealth accumulation in regards to education level and perceived social class. The question of “Do you feel that you need a high level of education to attain wealth?” will show how those of different classes, and those with different educations perceive wealth accumulation in this country. By using a representation of all classes, and linking this to their educations, we can garner a quantitative representation of these effects and perceptions about wealth accumulation. We will then have a clearer picture of what this relationship truly
