Q1 What are the critical elements associated with the mission of workforce education for today’s economic and related issues for both education and training?
O’Lawrence and Martinez (2009) believe that the importance of workforce education and development may lay on the promotion of individual learning and skill training. According to Gray and Herr (1998), workforce education has two principal missions. The first one is linked to providing people with the society career opportunities. Under this mission, workforce education and development professionals are expected to handle the following as identified by tasks. Gray and Herr (1998):
1. Career preparation opportunities
2. Career preparation for the disadvantaged

Prevention of labor shortage
3. Making businesses competitive (p. 48).
These two missions are telling us about the roles in workforce education, and development professionals may play in the society and their contribution toward the economic growth. However, they highlight that provision of workforce education and development may be affected by several factors and elements. Those elements and factors include new developments, improved communication and related technologies, ease of traveling, and increased business, particularly on the global scale leading to create tough competition )O’Lawrence and Martinez (2009).
However, communication between employers and educators help to design the programs and providing the type and quality that are sought by the job market. Failing to have proper communication and cooperation between parties involved will lead to issues including education and skills gap in the job market. Therefore, it can be said that this sort of communication and cooperation on developing a workforce with education skills desired in the job market.
