Wonder Lit. Essay-Julian Being a bully is not a good path to take, but unfortunately, Julian Albens took that path. In the story, Wonder, by R.J. Palacio, Julian is a bully who thinks that it is funny to tease other people. He bullies Auggie about his face, Jack about being friends with Auggie, the “freak”, and the rest of the people in the school.
In the beginning of the story, Julian bullies Auggie about his deformed face. Auggie was born with a different looking face and everyone always stared at him, but Julian does a lot more than just look. He said that Auggie looked like a Star Wars character named Darth Sidious. What made it so mean was that the Star Wars character was burned very badly and his face looked like Auggie’s normal face. …show more content…

As a matter of fact, he lies to the entire school by saying that Jack is just overpressured to be friends with Auggie, and it’s not just that he wants to. He states that Jack is friends with a freak and he starts, “the war.” Julian goes around telling everyone that Jack punched him because Jack had emotional problems. During, “The War,” Julian attempted to pull Jack and Auggie apart from being friends. To add on to that, Julian decided that it would be funny to introduce, “The Plague.” The Plague was a game that was played by the rules, if you touch Auggie Pullman than you had 30 seconds to wash your hands. This gruesome entertainment continued until everyone knew about it, even Auggie. I can officially claim now that Julian is a terrible, spine-chilling bully who cares about no one but himself. As you probably have noticed, Julian is a cruel person who thinks bullying others is funny. In the story, “Wonder,” by R.J. Palacio, Julian is very well known for being the kid who never gives up trying to bully other people. He bullies Auggie, Jack, and then moves on to the rest of the school. We have all seen what it feel like to be continuously bullied, so we can learn that acting like Julian is not the right path to
