The American Revolution: Women’s Role in Maintaining the Boycott of British Goods Dixin Ding US History Period 3 November 22, 2017 The French and Indian war led to the British being in immense debt, so to help pay it off they decided to lean on the colonists for support. As a result, the British government changed their colonial strategy by monitoring trade regulations and imposing new taxes on the American colonists. The colonists were furious and started to draft petitions and constitutional arguments against these newly implemented taxes and regulations.
