Conflict is a serious disagreement or argument, typically a protracted one. Often during conflicts, crimes are committed. During times of conflict, both children and women have to suffer equally.

According to the available country data, between 15 and 76 percent of women are targeted for physical or sexual violence in their lifetime. Most of this violence is taken place because of women reporting their husbands or partners as perpetrator, during time of conflicts. Across the 28 States of the European Union, a little over one in five women have experienced physical or sexual violence from a partner. (European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, 2014)

Sexual Abuse against women
Between 40 to 50 percent of women in European Union countries experience unwanted sexual advantages, physical contact or other forms of sexual abuse.
Across Asia, studies suggest that in Japan, Malaysia, Philippines and South Korea show that 30 to 40 percent of women suffer sexual abuse.
Up to 50 percent of sexual assaults are committed against girls under 16 worldwide. It was estimated that 150 million girls under the age of 18 suffered some form of sexual violence in year 2002 alone.
Sexual Violence in conflict is a serious, present day atrocity affecting millions of people, primarily women and girls. It is frequently a conscious strategy employed on a large scale by armed groups to humiliate opponents, terrify individuals and destroy societies.

1 in 16 children suffer from sexual abuse. Nearly 1 in 10 children are witnesses to family violence. The youngest children are the most vulnerable to maltreatment. Over 25% of abused children are under the age of three while 45% of abused children are under the age of five.
The highest child fatalities to the population data was in Pacific Islander and African- American children which was recorded 4.67 and 4.67 per 100,000 children respectively.
Child Trafficking

Another crime that is committed on children because of conflicts is forced labour, although this may be a misrepresentation because forced labour is less frequently detected and reported than trafficking for sexual explitation.
Worldwide, almost 20% of all trafficking victims are children. However in parts of Africa it reaches a majority and upto 100% in West Africa.

Children Warriors

Children are being forced by warlords in different parts of the world to engage in their matters and are being trained to become a tool to kill or spy people and are being deprived of the innocence of the childhood that each child
