Prostitution is defined as the act or practice of engaging in promiscuous sexual relations for money. Many Americans enjoy a constitutional right to sexual privacy. However, authority insist we must decriminalize consenting adult prostitution in order to bend around nonconsensual and underage prostitution. The system of prostitution is upheld by buyers of sexual acts called Johns. It is a multibillion market where demand for monetized sexual acts generates untold profits for traffickers and pimps, including owners of brothels, strip clubs, massage parlors and the adult industry.

Legalization which involves regulation or decriminalization which is no regulation .Nevada practices legalization which is the direct regulation of prostitution by the government. This regulation may include an range of methods, from zoning requirements and advertising limitations to mandatory tests for sexually transmitted diseases.
Decriminalization is the elimination of rules and regulation; prostitution is treated just like any other profession. Sweden takes a fractional decriminalization method, under which the sale of sex is not illegal, but its acquisition is. New Zealand, on the other hand, has decriminalized both the buying and trade of sexual activity. Many advocates of a legal sex trade consider that government must vigorously control it in order to elude or boundary supplementary social difficulties. Kelly’s article has raised valid points regarding safety to the prostitute within a brothel, but there is so much evidence that proves the ill effects of this experiment in other countries that the evidence cannot be ignored. Although, parts of the sex trade industry may initially see positive results for some of the workers, the majority would end up worse off than before. Due to the illegal nature of this industry and the control exuded by the pimp, the physical and psychological risk to the prostitute, the highly addictive nature of sex, and the organized crime behind the scenes orchestrating and controlling ever aspect of the industry, it is clear that decriminalizing prostitution would result in significant negative affects on society, prostitutes and those with sexual addictions.
In 2007, three prostitutes, Terri-Jean Bedford, Amy Lebovitch, and Valerie Scott came to the Canadian government to challenge the current prostitution laws after pending charges were laid against them for illegal acts prostitution (Chez Stella, 2013). The Bedford Case has opened up a debate on whether prostitution should be decriminalized in Canada. Through my research, I offer a comparative analysis of four approaches to prostitution, which aid in illustrating the effects that decriminalization would have on prostitutes, and women as a whole. The four states that I have compared are Canada, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Australia. These countries each hold different views and policies on prostitution. Canada is currently criminalized, the Netherlands is a state in which prostitution is legalized, Sweden advocates abolitionism, and in Australia, prostitution is decriminalized. Through careful analysis I have determined the effectiveness of each of the policies, and which system I believe would be best for Canada’s future. Based on this investigation, I advocate that Canada ought to adapt a similar approach to Australia, decriminalizing prostitution as a means for social, economic, and legal stability for women. It is through decriminalization that prostitutes will have the opportunity to be actively involved in the community, and no longer marginalized members of society.

Sweden states that decriminalizing the buying of sex would protect people and make prostitution “safer.” There will be a decrease in human trafficking. There has been a study of prostitution in different countries where the buying of sex has been decriminalized. Studies show that sexual trafficking is more common. It is more common because buyers can buy sex without having any problem.
Prostitution is the act of selling ones body for any type of sexual intercourse in exchange for money. Today, both men and women are willingly and forcefully engaged into the industry of sex and prostitution. It is most common for young teenage girls to be involved into this industry rather than a male or older woman. There are several different ways to how individuals are first brought into prostitution. One way is to be kidnapped and forcefully put on to the streets by a "Guerilla Pimp". "Guerilla Pimps" are the men who use their ability and force to kidnap young girls and throw them on to the streets to work as prostitutes (Youth Radio). Another way to be introduced to prostitution is by being persuaded by "Romeo Pimps". "Romeo Pimps" are the men who sweet talk you into situations and act like nothing is wrong with it (Youth Radio).
