Why vaccines are important
I was a previous healthcare professional and I have seen children and the elderly end up in the intensive care due to the flu. Over the years, there has been a movement of anti-vaccinations that urges the public not to get vaccinated. This has also been a personal issue for my brother. His soon to be ex-wife has decided not to vaccinate their son. This decision has caused more tension in the family because we strongly believe that there is no harm in vaccines.
Also, in the workplace where you are in close contact with everyone, there is more of a higher chance of getting the flu. I understand that it is a choice whether to get vaccinated or not, but I feel that if the public were more aware of the risks of the flu, they may see things a little differently.

But they have to keep in mind that if they do not vaccinate themselves, they are being a carrier of the virus and may pass this along to those who are vulnerable.
In conclusion on this ethical debate, the science is there to show the safety of vaccines and I feel that children should be vaccinate and adults can choose to do what they want for themselves.
