It is common sense for a person to know that killing someone is wrong. It is okay in some cases why killing someone is okay though. Case in point, if someone were to kill someone because they felt like it or if they were a thief that's absolutely wrong, they should be put in jail. If someone were to kill a mentally retarded person, for their own good, they should get everybodys “okay” first, to put the out of their misery, by causing trouble and not fitting in. George shouldn’t go to jail for killing Lennie, even though Lennie was completely innocent. Lennie is illiterate and ill-informed. He killed Curley's wife and many animals and to keep people safe from him would be hard. He might of had to just stay in one place all day alone, that isn't good for a human. “Well, you ain't pettin’ no mice while you walk with me” (Steinbeck 6). Lennie kills mice just by petting them. Lennie doesn't understand how strong he is and how easily he can kill things. It would benefit others if Lennie was not around. They could always find another strong man to work. Sadly, Lennie is just hopeless. Lennie constantly causes trouble. “George told Lennie to keep quiet while George was trying to find them a job”(Steinbeck 35). “Why can't you just let em’ talk?” (Steinbeck 35). It's hard for Lennie to have a regular conversation with someone. He does not understand people well. The boss found it hard to believe that George wasn't trying to fool him by talking about how great Lennie was at working and how strong he was. Majority of people would say that killing an innocent person is horrible. People say killing someone is wrong no matter what. Though it depends what the reason is for. For instance, if someone is a murderer, than they should be put in jail as soon as possible. If someone innocent is causing too much trouble, than get their families permission
