Well of course celebrities are human, what else would they be? Even being the seemingly perfect humans they are tragedies are nothing new to them, some are hit so hard by negatives in life that they spiral in a dangerous downfall to becoming a tragic hero. Some tragic heroes are people that were loved and adored, no one ever imagined them out of the spotlight, and then reality flew in and those weren't the celebrities you adored anymore. There are many reasons behind the downfall of a celebrity, drugs, bad decisions, accidents, and sometimes they might even be killed by their own fan, that's what happened to the tragic hero in this case, John Lennon. It's a shame that someone's love for a celebrity can end in their downfall, things like this
Lennon was well known for being a part of the iconic band The Beatles, which formed in 1960. Being cofounder of the band and their songwriter/guitarist gained Lennon a lot of popularity with people. “John Lennon was the most iconic Beatle” (“John Lennon Bio”), the article which this quote was taken from speaks highly of John Lennon and how he lived to be much loved and appreciated in the music world. Though Lennon had a rocky childhood his mother still loved him and he chose to stay close to her, and at a young age Lennon was given his first guitar by her, but his dear mother was careful to include that though the guitar was nice, Lennon could not make a living off of it, which is exactly what he seemed to do. Lennon teamed up with Paul McCartney to create the Beatles, in 1957 at the impressive age of 17 and even at such an early point in his life people already looked up to him, a majority of those who looked up to Lennon would be his band members. In an article by beatlesbible.com they quote Lennon’s band member Paul McCartney when he says “We all looked up to John. He was older and he was very much the leader - he was the quickest wit and the smartest and all that kind of thing.” this shows us all that friend and fan alike adored
People everywhere mourned the loss of Lennon saying that he would be missed incredibly and that he was a true genius. Yoko Ono felt the most pain when Lennon was pronounced dead upon arrival at Roosevelt Hospital, and one sources says that she supposedly asked for his death not to be broadcast all over television because Lennon and Ono’s son Sean would be watching. People's true adoration for Lennon was shown when “On December 14, at Ono's request, a 10-minute silent vigil was held at 2 p.m. EST in which millions around the world participated.” (“John Lennon Bio”), millions of people around the world paused their days to respect John Lennon, a true tragic hero. While Lennon's family was mourning over their loss, fans of Lennon and the Beatles everywhere had seem to come to a type of agreement that still continues today, no one would dare say the name of Lennon’s killer, purely out of the fact that he ended someone's life who deserved to live on. Lennon's fans would continue to love and respect him for years, his music is still adored by many people today. John Lennon was more than just a tragic hero, he was an icon in the music world, he new his place and he new his world, he inspired so many and he will probably still have fans
