A turning point is an event or person that creates a major change in history. At certain times in global history, important events have occurred that have fiercely changed the course of history. There have been many turning points over time that are very important in history. The two turning points that had a major impact on history are the fall of the Roman Empire and the Black Plague.

There were many historical circumstances of the fall of the Roman Empire. One historical circumstance of the fall of the Roman Empire is there was chaos in the cities. People went crazy after the fall of the Roman Empire. Houses and everything was burning and the people didn’t know what to do. One reason why the fall of the Roman Empire is an important turning point is it led up to the Crusades. The church played a major role in society for people after the fall of the Roman Empire. The church gave hope to people and told them to not be afraid. When the Pope found out that the Byzantine Empire emperor asked for help to get the land of Palestine, the Pope needed people’s help from the church to the fight in the Crusades. The Crusades were many battles that occurred over the years. The reasons why these battles happened was because the Muslims attacked the Byzantine Empire and the emperor of the Byzantine Empire needed help. But this all wouldn’t have happened without the fall of the Roman Empire and how the people needed the church for hope and praying. Another reason why the fall of the Roman Empire is an important turning point is trade, education and more things were brought back. After the Crusades and the Black plague, everything got better for the people. Things like trade and education came back. Since trade is back, people started to become wealthy and new items were introduced like pepper, cloves, silk, and cotton. Since education is back, there are major improvements in math, science, and medicine. One last reason why the fall of the Roman Empire is an important turning point is the Crusades and these advancements led up to a golden age. Since everything was going great with trading and education, feudalism ends and now begins a new golden age called the Renaissance.
