Completing my undergraduate degree and being the first in my family to ever attend a four year university is the biggest accomplishment thus far. All I ever wanted was to attend college to get the experience and succeed by earning my degree. Now that I’ve reached this point, I want to take another challenging step in life to earn a master's degree. I would like to continue pursuing this accomplishment since I have the urge to keep learning. I am opened to expanding my abilities to greater things that would later make an positive significance through my work with people. Specifically foster youth, homeless or at risk youth. Obtaining a masters degree will educate me more about youth and allow me to better serve them the best way I can.

I know more about who I am and what I want to become by being in the social work program. I found a sense of belonging in the world through social work by realizing my own struggles growing up and how I wished i had a positive influence to guide me through. Now that I am older, i’d like to do that for youth who are in need for a positive mentor.

Because i am especially committed to working with youth, As a student i’d like to learn more about interventions that specifically adheres to youth. I strongly believe that making an impact during an early stages of development is extremely beneficial mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally.
As an undergraduate in social work I’ve become aware of issues that hinder our society from young to old and would like to advance my education as a social worker to better serve those in need. Regardless of ethnicity, religion, age, or gender I believe that I can continue my education here where there’s still a lot more to learn and bring uncomfortable topics to the surface. Such as indigenous communities here in Humboldt county and all across the world.
Although I’ve been learning about the history of native americans and their historic trauma since my undergrad i still believe there's so much I still need to learn. In order for me to serve the native population the best and positive way I can as a non-native. I believe continuing that at
