To be the representative for North Dakota’s ASCLS would be of great honor. Over the course of my life I have always attempted to have a strong work ethic, be a trustworthy person, and to be reliable in everything I do. Up to this point, I feel like I have done an excellent job of being true to myself and feel like I have caused others to adopt a better way of living. Now that I am entering the laboratory profession, I feel like it’s time for me to step up and be more of a leader and to do this being a ASCLS representative would be a perfect start. Over my education, I have always strived to be the best I can at what I was studying. I have always taken the responsibility to study as much as I possibly can to surpass the standard I have set for myself and feel like I have done a good job at doing so. In contrast, I have always taken the responsibility if I do not do as well as I was expecting, or made a mistake at work. This trait of striving for excellence and taking the responsibility for mistakes is important for being the representative, since no one is perfect and will make mistakes but those who try to learn from them will progress the furthest. In addition to this, people tend to seem me as leader figure and have come to rely on me to make group decisions and even come to me if they have questions in the laboratory.
