It is a cliché to say that I don’t know what I want to become in the future but in my case, after attending to Lone Star College, my plan for the future straightened out. How did an educational experience help me in college? Why did I attend Lone Star College and how has it benefitted me now? Well, I will tell you why I made the best decision attending Lone Star College and how that has directed me in the path I am at today. I was upset after graduating high school right at the age of seventeen, my parents were too afraid to let me apply to big Universities far away from home. My parents knew I was clueless about life, but knew I wanted to get a college degree. My mother recommended Lone Star College to me, since she attended there when she
“Coastal Carolina is too far away for you to come home when you have the chance.” Kaylee (my Girlfriend at the time) said to me in my first car as we talked about college choices. I told her about my acceptance to Coastal Carolina University I received from Mrs. Emmons (personal guidance counselor in high school) during a school day, early February. Kaylee’s words made me start a to question myself; “What other colleges can I choose?”. I came home and sat down with my parents in the living room with my Coastal Carolina acceptance letter in my hand and they were proud of me. I asked my parents the same question I asked myself earlier that day “What other colleges can I choose from?”. When
The only person in my family that went to college after high school was my grandmother. I do not want to be just another family member to not go to college; I do not want to give up my dreams, because I do not have the education for them. I want to be able to say I did it for me, for my dreams. In the paragraph above I explained a little about my life when I was little and what that taught me was that life doesn 't always go as you might want it to; with that in mind college would be my choice, it would be what I want. The reasons I want to go to college may not seem significant enough to you, but too me they mean so much more than what you will understand. There is this quote, I do not know who said it, but I think it means a lot; “ You were born to be real, not to be Perfect”, this quote works perfectly with what I am trying to tell you. I believe that everyone should live by that quote. I am not going to tell you what I think you want to hear, but what I believe you need to
My parents never had the best education, but they supported me nonetheless in my own education, and after I received my high-school diploma, I went to study at Harvard university. Sadly, I was kicked out due to bad grades and had to continue my college career at Fredonia State Teacher’s College.
My purpose and goals in attending college is to make something of my life. It is a good thing. No one wants to be a nobody. But sometimes it takes time in order for one to realize this. & nbsp; Upon graduation from high school, I, like the majority of others high school graduates, had no clue what direction my life was heading or even what I wanted to become.
Having a college degree in today’s world is very important because more companies and businesses are requiring that anyone they hire has at least a two-year college degree, which is also known as an Associate 's degree. High school graduates and other people who have had thoughts about going to college should do so because it is getting harder for just a high school graduate to get a job, this is a result of hiring companies and businesses don’t want anyone without a college degree. Having a college degree will open more opportunities for the future. By doing so they further their lives and create a future that they want.
Going to college is something that has been drilled into my brain by the public education system since I was in first grade. They obviously did a phenomenal job because here I am, a high school senior, applying to various colleges and universities trying to find the right fit. There are many reasons why I want to go to college, but there is one reason above all others, and that is that I want to be able to share my passion of music with others in hopes of sparking a similar passion inside of them.
I grew up in a household where my mom was a high school graduate but had a baby so she was not able to go to school, and my dad was a high school dropout. So the pressure of going to college was very high. My parent would want me to join every club and expect the best grades possible. They didn’t want me to do like them and miss the opportunities and chances I had, they wanted me to do better than them. You get to have that fresh new start, get to meet new people, and also gain independence. Parents always want their kids to do great and strive for their
I spent much of my high school career researching colleges and universities. My mom and I traveled to well over 10 different colleges and universities in 4 different states trying to find the “perfect” school for me. By the end of my junior year of high school I had finally found the ideal school, or so I thought. The school was small, environmentally friendly, new, beautiful, diverse, and just happened to be located 1,000 miles away from home. Everyone at my small high school knew that I was going away to school and it was a huge deal because the majority of my classmates were going to in state schools. I traveled to the school multiple times for orientations, to meet my roommates, and to make sure it was the “perfect” school for me. Early May of my senior year of high school, right before graduation, I woke up with a feeling in my gut that this
My parents always tell me your only job right now is school.I remember applying for high schools.I wanted my parents support but sadly I didn’t receive that. I wanted to go to Seagoville high school but my parents wanted me to go to Cristo Rey Dallas college prep.I checked out Cristo Rey Dallas and the idea of going to Cristo Rey Dallas grew on me As my parents did parents should bring their children to Cristo Rey Dallas because of its opportunities to be in college prep classes, enrichment and its Corporate Work Study Program.
Education is one of the most important heritage that a father can give to his son. Education is the greatest inheritance a parent can leave to the son, being educated is not to acquire knowledge but more than that it be lack of ignorance. Someone once said that “I do not read for more intelligence but rather to be less ignorant”, these words have a world between them, because many people study for a degree not for gain knowledge. Education can be defined as the wealth of knowledge acquired by an individual that would be a common way to define which education, but is also the most seen college students? This is the biggest mistake of most college students, which go to colleges
College is a very important thing. If you go to college you will most likely get better pay in your career. Also, with a college degree, you have more opportunities. I believe that everyone should go to college. If you don’t go to college and just go into some job and that fails then you have no backup plan. A college graduate is more likely to be offered employment than another who didn’t attend college, if you have a college degree you will make more money in your lifetime than someone who doesn’t have a degree, if you are considering having children having a college degree is very beneficial to them, you have a higher chance of having better health yourself, college is very beneficial, and if you go to college you will have a better social
There is a lot of pressure put on high school students to go to college. Junior and Senior year of high school all students hear is ‘where are you going to college’ and ‘what are you going to do with your life’. Such questions can be overwhelming and cause a lot of stress for students. It’s been put into everyone’s minds that in order to be successful you absolutely have to go to college and get a degree. Not every successful person went to college. The idea of college can put a lot of stress onto a person when they think it is the only way to be successful, but it is possible to be successful without a degree thus students should not be pressured into going to college as soon as they graduate high school.
Society tells us that after high school we must go to college and get a degree if we want to obtain success. For me going to college was the goal ever since I was a small child. Everyone in my family has gotten some form of post-secondary education. With a family like that ever Since the early ages of childhood as far I can remember my parents and family member were just always big on telling me I have to go to college to keep to better myself. After I graduated from high school the question in my house was not if I was going to go to college but instead where am I going to go to college. There was no question about if I was going to go to college or not. My parents made it clear that when august came around that year after I graduated from
Many years ago I remember my parents telling me that in order for me to become successful a college education was a must. They always told me that if I wasn’t in school I could no longer live at home. Both of my parents attended college but neither of them finished. They did not want me to go down that same road because they really regret not getting their degrees.
