High School Students Should be Required to Pass a National High School Exam in Order to Graduate

More than half of the states in the United States currently require students to pass a national exam in order to graduate from high school. ( great school staff) A national exam is an important test that seniors in high school need to take to get their diploma. It is a test for which individual states create the questions. The result of the test shows colleges how much ability a student has. High school students should be required to pass a national high school exam in order to graduate. There are many people who think that standardized tests do not improve student achievement. Many people think students who pass the state high school test show up to college unprepared. In a study that surveyed 123,000 students, scientists discovered that scores on the standardized test are not reliable on student success (Jaschik, Scott). This means standardized tests don't mean anything to colleges, which is why some people think standardized tests are not good for students.
