Every football player gets a physical before their season even starts. A physical basically checks your overall health and checks for any injuries. If you don't pass the physical, you are not eligible to play. Therefore football is not too dangerous to be played in high school. One reason football should be played in high school is because of safety. With proper gear, football is safe. As Terrence Holder says, “Improving helmet technology is a good place to start.” Better helmets would be safer and up to date so that players have a smaller risk of getting injured. Football takes a lot of hard work and dedication. Physical strength, endurance, agility, speed and flexibility are all enhanced from participation on a football team. Most of these assets are gained in practice. Strength training through calisthenics and weights, agility drills with tires and ladders, sprints, and various stretching regimens are all incorporated into regular practice and running plays. Football keeps you in shape and increases your muscle. By the end of the season coaches expect all players to be in really good shape. During season players are pushed to do their hardest and do the best at everything they do. Players also workout which builds up the muscle to get stronger. Another reason football should be played is to build leadership. Out of every football team will rise leaders. Those gifted with the ability to exhort, motivate and inspire often shine in the context of football.
