Tommy Hilflinger once said “The road to success is not easy to navigate, but with hard work, drive and passion, it’s possible to achieve the American Dream.” Many would agree and many would oppose, but I believe in the American Dream. Our ancestors who came over believed, but why do people today believe and others may not? Many believe in the American Dream for many reasons. The American Dream is one of many reasons why people come to America. They come to get a better life than what they had before. In today’s society, many believe that it is attainable and is a reasonable goal for many immigrants. The “National Review” found “in 2011, 75% of Americans said the American Dream was still possible and achievable for people…” People believe it’s a reachable goal because they face less discrimination, and have the will to work hard. Back before technology and electricity, people would give anything to get a little extra change in their pocket, and children today would too. They have many more privileges than the generation before them. If people work hard enough, then can attain the dream. …show more content…

That’s why if some people come to America, they need support from positive people. If they have the support, they will have the initiative to work harder to get their work done and maybe more. They will gain confidence to get more little tasks to get more money to support them. They also will believe in themselves when times are rough. Even if they don’t have much to live from, the encouragement is all they need to get through the day. Many would just love a simple short conversation everyday just to ask them how they are doing and hoping they have a good
