Football or, soccer to others is the biggest sport in the world, it is viewed by people across the globe and is or used to be all about the game. In modern football, it seems the only people that still care for the game are football fans. Nowadays, players and coaches do all sorts of stuff from fake injuries to match fixing. However, it seems fair that players and coaches would go through such drastic measures to win games as they get payed very good money. It is not only a win for the players, but for their nation as well. FIFA always develops the world cup, and recently they have been through tough scrutiny from the public for the locations of the upcoming world cup in Russia and the one after that Qatar. FIFA has always been in the dark with their corruption, but awarding the world cup to those countries prompted the U.S. to use the FBI to investigate. As of 2016, 16 FIFA officials have been arrested for crimes. FIFA has also issued lifelong bans on members, and the man who started it all Sepp Blatter, has resigned from his post. Attorney General Loretta Lynch. Lynch exposed FIFA of it’s crimes and in February 26th, 2016 FIFA held elections for a new president since Blatter reigned after his term of 17 years. There were many reforms, and a new president, Gianni Infantino was elected, and FIFA looks like they are ready to get rid of their corrupt past, and start a bright new organization for the benefit of football. Infantino under his short rule of 4 days has said to the press “Football is back at FIFA, and FIFA is back in football,” he did however say the 2018 and 2022 world cups will go on, prompting people to change their minds on the alleged bribes, and he said FIFA will now have president’s rule for a term of 3 years only.
