I believe slaughtering cows should be illegal. A teacher told me of a story that her father work in a slaughter house. Her dad say instead of getting slaughtered they would rather commit suicide. To commit suicide they would jump of window instead of getting slaughtered. That’s how bad the slaughterhouse is. The way the get slaughtered is just a scary thing to be part of. Cows get stun, beat, and body parts chopped up even before they are slaughtered. This happens to them because they refuse to go into the slaughter house. So getting stung or beat is how people get them in.
Some people say cows are good for you but they don’t know what or how they get their meat.Cows were made to live, they were not made for food. Peta says, “40 to 45 cow heads crammed in there.”When cows are on there way to the slaughter house somethings it’s very hot in the summer time. But what makes it worse is that they over fill the trailer full of a lot of cows in very little space. Usually it’s 90-95 degrees in the summer time. This means that in the summertime there is lots of cows being transported 1,200 to

When they get treated horrible like this when they get killed the meat carries the bad energy that eventually ends up in us. Putting us in bad moods, having attitudes, and or bad behavior. Also a quote from Pete website they said “Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way.” This quote is true. We should not be eating them. What if somehow us and cow positions got switched, we wouldn’t want to be killed or slaughtered so someone can eat us. Cow are being killed in the worst ways possible and the worlds ok with it. To me that if u slaughter a cow or a human it’s the same thing has the other, just has bad. So even slaughtering cow some people say that's better than slaughtering a human but really it's not. Its pretty much the same
13) Is it morally wrong to be someone like Benjamin who recognizes what is happening but does not care enough to speak up, even if others will be hurt?
We care so much about what the food is and how it is made that we overlook about where the food had come from. According to the reading selection, “Killing Them with Kindness?” by James McWilliams, an American history professor at Texas State University, states “animals raised in factory farms have qualities that make them worthy of our moral consideration…[and yet, we] continue to ignore the ethical considerations involved in eating meat” (311). This exhibits that when Americans are so engrossed in healthy eating, our morals about animal rights are neglected. Most of what we eat are animals, and animals like we do have emotions, interests, and possibly goals in life. We pay no heed of the animal’s interests and it should not be that way since our interests are no more important just because we are more superior, intelligent beings should not give us the right to perceive animals in such a manner. In addition to paying notice of the origin of where the animals come from, we need to be aware of what killing animals will do to the earth. In the TedTalk, “What’s Wrong with the Way We Eat,” Mark Bittman states “10 billion animals are killed each year for food and they represent 18% of the harmful greenhouse gasses” (Bittman). This reveals that our careless consumption would not only lead to the suffering of animal deaths but the suffering of our world and our imminent death. As we increase our progression with our unhealthy obsession over healthy eating, there will not be any positive effects for the body, the animals around us, or the world. If we were to be conscious about the source of our food and the consequence of eating then we will be able to eat healthily and
We should be concerned about the health of the animals that we are eating because if they are not consuming any healthy food we will not get our required nutrients. In the movie Food Inc. it shows how cows are only supposed to eat grass which is essential to them however we are now feeding them corn which makes the cows bigger and fatter faster than usual but there are many things wrong with it. This could cause Cows to raise the acid level this also creates existence for the dangerous disease E. Coli. E. Coli is a bacteria that is inside your intestines that helps you break down food. When cows are fed corn it also decreases the healthy acids such as Omega-3 and increases Omega-6 which is unhealthy. We should also care about their living conditions because a cow is in one area for most of the day just eating corn and when cows eat corn they tend to poop a lot. It is crowded in the eating area for cows so when they poop it falls on the ground and they eat so much corn that they just keep pooping so eventually they start stepping in it and this would cause them to get diseases. Some farmers when they slaughter them they do check for diseases but some don’t, so the diseases travel with the cow and onto your dinner plate which means that you could be eating an infected cow without knowing it. This could give you diseases and it could cause death. In Food Inc. they showed an example of a boy called Kevin who died because of consuming some unsanitary meat. He got E. Coli and died 12 days later. This proves that this should not be taken lightly because many people die from diseases similar to this one.
There is no humane way to raise beef cattle to meet the world's growing demand. Let's take a look at one of the biggest beef based corporations in the world, Tyson. Tyson slaughters and packages 170,938 cattle every day! That number is not including any other of the corporations who are
slaughtering of most animals is done in a very inhumane way. Like the lobsters, chickens also
Temple Grandin once said, “I think using animals for food is an ethical thing to do, but we 've got to do it right. We 've got to give those animals a decent life and we 've got to give them a painless death. We owe the animal respect” (Quotes). This quote is one of the countless quotes by Temple Grandin; after her many years of work in slaughter houses and with animals. Everything that happens to animals by humans must be done in a humane and safe way. Farmers are working every single day to make sure all animal slaughtering is done in the most humane matter. In the United States slaughtering practices have strict regulations and many experts like Temple Grandin are advocating for the animals.
Personally, I partially disagree with the argument. I support the idea that farm animals should be treated in a more humane way, but I do not think that we should stop consuming animals. They have been part of our diet for ages. Their meat is packed with essential nutrients, like proteins and
In the first chapter of the book Cows, Pigs, Wars, and Witches by Marvin Harris, the author talks about the interesting culture and the attitude of the Hindu people’s love and passion for cows. Harris describes that the Hindu culture is made up of traditions that have been passed down from historical traditions, which consists of superstitions and opposing views. In the first chapter, Harris talks about a certain culture riddle of “cow love”, specifically the Hindus love for the cow. Their love implies the conservation of cows: not killing them for food. This is something that most outsiders don’t understand. It is made obvious that the Western people disagree with Hindu’s
There are many debates around the world about the topic of animal abuse. Animal abuse in the food industry has become a major problem due to the cruel treatment of animals. Most of the world's population might think that animal cruelty is only found in homes and on the street, but they forget about the other forms of animal abuse that affect the food industry. Large contributors to animal abuse are due to fishing methods, animal testing, and slaughterhouses. "Animals have always been a major part of our society in history and they have played huge roles in agriculture" (ASPCA). Factory farming is a system of confining chickens, pigs, and cattle under strictly controlled conditions. Slaughterhouses are places where animals are killed
I believe that using animals for food is the only reason for killing animals. They are the best. Some people may argue that meat is not needed in a balanced diet and alternatives to vegetables, fruits, pulses and dairy produce. can be consumed for protein instead, but we have canine teeth. We are suited to eating meat like other carnivorous and omnivorous predators.
I will first look at the views of Peter Singer, who is a utilitarian. A
As a human, we possess certain rights that protect us in society, however the animals we raise for food live under a much more complicated system that constantly changes. Americans have recently begun to protest animal treatment, especially in the meat industry. Many animal rights groups claim that animal farming is an inhuman practice that violates the rights of all living creatures. Farmers believe that animal right shouldn't change as any changes could cost them millions in new technology to safely care for the animals. The American farming industry poses several moral issues about animal rights which possess no easy solution, however new alternatives appear to have answers for this growing dilemma.
Can you imagine going through the pain that animals in slaughterhouses went through? Most people don’t think of that part of it but the real fact is that billions of animals went through a painful life to be killed for food every year. Most people like to keep the thought in there heads that these animals live on beautiful green farms where they are treated great and then have a very peaceful death, and never feel any or little pain. Well that is not the case, these animals are treated very unfairly. The animals in slaughterhouses are given a massive amount of antibiotics, hormones, and drugs to keep them alive in conditions that are so bad they would otherwise kill them.
People love to eat meat. For over two million years, humans have relied on eating meat in order to survive or simply just because they enjoy the taste. Early humans had more powerful jaws and larger teeth and relied on meat as one of their main sources of food. As evolution took place and humans evolved, they developed smaller teeth and were only able to eat the meat if it was cooked. With humans evolving and being able to survive on foods other than meat, meat does not have to necessarily be a part of human diet anymore. Although many people have opted for a vegetarian lifestyle, most people still continue to eat meat and do not consider it a cruel act. Many have also stopped eating meat due health risks and environmental concern. Whether
Animals are not equal to humans. There are those who will still fight for animal rights, but one might wonder if this issue isn't just an excuse for some twisted person to do bodily harm to another. " Brian Cass.was left with a three-inch head wound after the attack" (Cass).
