Recommended: Japan enters World War 2

Nowadays we can argue which one of the superpowers was most responsible for the outbreak of the Cold War? Should we blame the USSR or should we blame the US. I think we should blame the USSR for following reasons.with the Cold War was a political and economical struggle between the USSR and USA. These two nations stood by one another during WWII as allies but soon became enemies. The reason being that the Americans feared that Joseph Stalin was becoming power hungry and also Soviet communism was spreading. Communism was feared because it removed personal wealth and social rights.

In October 1917 the Russian revolution took place. It began with the help of Karl Marx, a revolutionary socialist who influenced the Bolsheviks to empower themselves. He believed that one day he and the Bolsheviks would …show more content…

Japan thought they could win but were heavily defeated by a new destroyer known as the atomic bombs. If it weren’t for the attack on Pearl Harbor there would not have been a war between the two Nations. Japan is responsible for starting this war and therefore had suffered in return. The Yalta and Potsdam conference were very important because it evaluated what would happen to Europe and mostly Germany. February 1945, Germany had not been defeated so Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill (the Big Three) came to an agreement to divide Germany into 4 zones. These zones were to be used for occupation. The Big Three also decided to allow free elections in countries located East of Europe. Also Russia was invited to join the United Nations and was given a responsibility to join the war against Japan once Germany was defeated. The Potsdam conference, July 1945, Germany was finally defeated. Roosevelt had died and Churchill lost the 1945 election, which caused open disagreements. Truman (president of USA) was angry about the reparations needed and that Poland would have a communist government. Truman had an atomic bomb but he did not tell that to

There are three main schools of thought in the historiography: the traditional view, known alternatively as the orthodox or liberal view, which finds fault lying mostly with the Russians and deems security concerns to be the root cause of the Cold War; the revisionist view, which argues that it is, in fact, the United States and the West to blame for the Cold War and not the Russians, and cites economic open-door interests for spawning the Cold War; finally, the post-revisionist view which finds fault with both sides in the conflict and points to issues raised both by the traditionalists as well as the revisionists for combining to cause the Cold War. While strong arguments are made by historians writing from the traditionalist school, as well as those writing from the revisionist school, I claim that the viewpoint of the post-revisionists is the most accurate in describing the origins of the Cold War.
