The toxic substance I believed the drug used in the enema was the Nembutal she supposedly overdosed on. The other theory many people seem to believe is that she simply amassed on a great dosage of the nembutal pills. I believe the coroner just said she overdosed on the pills because it would be easier to go with, since the coroner was not interested in Monroe. If he had tried to go on with it we possibly would have figured out who was actually responsible for the death of Marilyn Monroe.
