Teddy Roosevelt Peaceful but Ready for War.

The best way to describe Theodore Roosevelt is an “Original”, a man like no other helping shape and influence American history for the better. Most people know him for serving two terms as president and being the youngest president to serve in history. He has even won a noble peace prize for helping end the Russo-Japanese war. Being one of the few faces found on Mount Rushmore you know this man was important. Theodore believed in peace but he would not be bullied by others. He supported desegregation and women’s suffrage he was a man that wanted to improve on civil rights something not as common at the time.

Without cool the entire Northeast would freeze. Teddy quickly saw this as problem and did what he could to fix it. Roosevelt being the peaceful man he was brought both sides together that favored labor over management quickly ending the coal strike. He never wanted to see anyone have the power to hurt the country. He even saw that the meat industry was not regulated and not very sanitary so he created the Meat Inspection Act of 1906. Which made sure meat was safe to eat for everyone. He preserved land that is our national parks today because he wanted our children to see the beauty of nature. Which basically means be polite and don’t start fights on your own, but be ready to fight if someone else does. Don’t back down from bullies but don’t be one yourself. This is something Teddy lived by he was a firm believer in the big stick diplomacy, the idea of negotiating peacefully with other nations while simultaneously threatening them with displays of military muscle. He used just that to help end the Russo-Japanese war. He devised a negotiation between the two countries. That Russia buy back the northern part of Sakhalin from Japanese control. After much debate Japan finally agreed to take back around half of the island without any kind of payment. Eventually this earned Teddy the noble peace prize for ending the Russian Japanese war by bringing peace back to the world through his negotiations. This shows just how peaceful and negotiating Theodore was. Roosevelt might have been peaceful but he was not afraid to go to war even as he served term as President in 1908 he still tried to be an officer in World War
