Heike Kamerlingh Onnes was studying superconductivity. Onnes was researching the properties of matter, but not in the normal state. He had the temperatures extremely low and he observed the properties of matter. Germany 1912, scientist Alfred Wegener Had thought about a theory that could have changed the world. Wegener had the idea of Plate tectonic and the Continental drift. When the idea was first presented, people thought he was out of his mind. He was criticized for what he thought. Soon after him releasing his idea, it was accepted. Wegener then started to understand the earth and the theory of pangea.
