What makes good people do bad things?
There are different types of people in the world, as they all have different behavior, personality, and culture. Everyone has a different view of what makes good people do bad things. It is amazing how such calm and nice people turn into such a bad people. There must be a psychology reason in order for them to turn like this. There are some factors I would like to know and also discuss of why people behave this way. Therefore, a person with different behavior makes them act different and hence, that impacts on a person’s personality which makes them turn from good person to bad person.
There are some major factors that may be considered on what good people do bad things. In the article, Ronald developed a list of six factors using the word WIZARD. The first factor he talks about is the W, which stands for weakness of will; he talks about how people just become so weak when sorting out everything in their life. People try to do it on their own way thinking they know everything and end up doing something irrelevant. Duska gives an example of a desert to tell us that if we want to lose weight we should not be having desert but since we are very weak in sorting out things in life we might not be able to give up on our desert. Everyone has to overcome their own temptation, for example in a game the player cannot ask someone else to help them overcome their temptation. There are some desires which can be called as “greed”. Ronald uses another example of an Abraham Lincoln where Lincoln throw a man out from his office as the man was trying to bribe to him; when people ask Abraham he says the guy was too close to his price which means everyone has their own weak will and desire but the best way to a...

...wonder what happened to the good guy he was always been. Also, one act cannot determine that the person has turn bad from a good person. Anyone can go or act as being good or bad but the reality is what actually makes them act the way they do. The forces of their conscious way and behaving the way they behave are very important change in human being.
Overall, the impacts on a person’s personality can people turn from good person to bad person as people with different behavior makes them act different. Everyone has their own way of living life, it all starts with what background and religious perspective you come from. All of us look at the same situation differently and react differently; in some cases there might be something which my religion say it’s wrong but on the other hand the same thing will be good for that particular religion as they consider as a good.
In God, Power, and Evil: A Process Theodicy by Davis Ray Griffin the author attempts to take an unbiased look at this age old question, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” The author explores different theoretical beliefs in an attempt to answer this question. In most of the resources that I examined the base principle is, above all, a person’s personal belief in God, or lack of, will more than likely dictate how one is able to decipher and understand the logic of evil in the world.
However, what about when one commits a good act, only to have the act result in something evil? If one commits a good act that has an evil result is that act evil? For example, there were a multitude of charity schemes, namely phishing scams, which occurred after hurricane Katrina. If one were to have donated money to one of these scams, thinking they were helping the hurricane victims, they would have been committing a good act. However, in reality they were being cheated out of their money, which would have likely then been put to an evil use. This example illustrates that a good act that results in evil is in itself not evil. The individual still committed a good act since it was inspired by their love for
There are many things that can alter the personality of an individual; some of these are voluntarily inflicted, while others are uncontrollable. Among the uncontrollable altercations, birth order is perhaps the largest influence on a person's disposition. Personality is influenced by the "place" a person has in their family as well as the family situation. It is important whether an individual is an only child, first born, second born, third born, a boy among girls, or a girl among boys, and so on.
In today’s culture psychologist, sociologist, and scientist investigate several types of personalities. Personality is the pattern of behavior, though process, emotions, and reactions to the people that surround us on daily basis. Several test have been developed for testing personalities. Some test can be simple and short while others lengthy and complicated. Scholars demonstrated knowledge about personalities looking back many thousands of years. The Greeks published a well documented history in profiling people according to personality traits. Two interesting character personalities are conformist type personality and manipulative type personality.
When people realize that good and evil are just points of view that are placed on other people and actions, it is possible to transcend these superficial roles. Since it is people who create the meaning of evil, it cannot be said that people are evil, or are born evil, because not only is that a perspective that is assumed onto others, which will change with different cultures, societies, and eras, but the very same acts may appear to be both good and evil, depending on the perspective in which the acts are seen. Ultimately, it is the individual’s responsibility to decide for himself the effects of his actions on himself and others.
People said, “Evil communication corrupt bad manners,” if you live with some bad people, you will become a bad people. Do you agree this? When you were born, you had to have a family beside you. In my view, family is the place where affect children’s personality development because their member family directly affect them. For example, “the children grow up with an abuse, absolutely they will abuse someone as same as they were abuse when child” (Jackson Katz, Tough Guise). According to the survey, almost the children will be a doctor, thief, or crime if their parent is a doctor, thief, or crime. One more time, this prove that family will affect your personality
Modern society has created a cushion of intellect that protects stupid people. People do stupid things that should result in an inability to pass on stupid genetic material. But as Sally Adee quotes in What Makes People Do Dumb Things, “In the distant past, people whose mutations had slowed their intellect would not have survived to pass on their genes; but Crabtree suggests that as human societies became more collaborative, slower thinkers were able to piggyback on the success of those with higher intellect.”(Adee) It is acknowledging that people do stupid things because society allows them to. People do stupid things because society has built safety nets to protect the lowest common denominators of the population.
The lines that define good and evil are not written in black and white; these lines tend to blur into many shades of grey allowing good and evil to intermingle with each another in a single human being. Man is not inherently good or evil but they are born innocent without any values or sense of morality until people impart their philosophies of life to them. In the words of John Locke:
“In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.” (Eleanor Roosevelt). This is just one of the infinite examples of how human nature has been explored by so many different people. Each and every human is born with the capability of making their own choices. The decisions that they will make in the future will determine how evil they are viewed by others. Although one’s nature and nurture do affect their life, it is their own free will that determines whether or not they are evil.
Personality is patterns of thinking, behavior and emotional responses that make up individuality over time. Psychologist attempt to understand how personality develops and its impact on how we behave. Several theories attempt to explain personality, using different approaches. The social-cognitive and humanistic approaches are two of many theories that attempt to explain personality. This essay will identify the main concepts of social-cognitive and humanistic approach, identify perspective differences and discuss approach limitations.
Personalities differ greatly from one person to another and there are many theorists with different theories of why people act the way they do. The first few stages of a person’s shape their entire personality and how they are going to be for the rest of their life and that is very important. The development of a person has to do with who their parents are, how they are rasied, their environment, etc. and that is very crucial. Every person acts the way they do for a certain reason and that it showed by many theories throughout time.
Famous psychological theorists Sigmund Freud and Carl Rogers were both the greatest researchers in our modern time. They both made a lot of advancement in psychological fields, clinical evidence and expertise. They both developed a theory of 'hidden' personality’, in which the psychologists theorized that people have a ‘hidden' personality within them, one which they are not aware of. This concept indicated that the human nature and the role play in rationale behind the human motivation. Sigmund Freud and Carl Rogers do have same common in their theories. They were both influenced by working within their patients and shared the familiarity through the many years of clinical performance. Based on their experimental studies, Sigmund Freud believed that the human nature is inherently aggressive, and Carl Rogers sustained that the people are innately are good. Indeed, Sigmund Freud and Carl Rogers have diverse opinions and different assumptions on the personality of a human. During the contemporary scientific research, I prefer to agree with Roger’s theory over the Freudian model because it is more in tune with findings of my experiences.
There is an incredibly thin line between what makes a person good and what makes a person right. A person being right is something that’s controversial; you can choose what you want because it’s your opinion. A person being good is something that no one gets a say in; all people are good. It’s hard to see that because people skewer the image of other people when they think that person did something wrong. We are judged more by our actions than by our intentions. In reality, our intentions are all that matter.
In our world today, we come across all sorts of people. Some you see do evil actions and some you see do good actions. The person doing a good action might be a psychotic killer-- you never know. The other person doing the evil action, could be a priest. Not everything you see people do shows what type of person they really are inside. These people may look one way on the outside, but the world can change the way they see the world and their ultimate actions. Regardless of how someone seems, they are consistently changing because of the evil energies of the world. Humans are all born good and pure, although as we grow up we are corrupted by the evil world around us.
What makes a person good? Immanuel Kant possession was, the only thing that is good without qualification, and this is a “good will". The right motive is to do the right things, to duty and respect moral law. For Kant, a good will is not good because of what it brings about or helps to bring about, but because it is good in itself.
