"A vulnerable person is one who is not afraid of failing or sharing those failures with others. Vulnerable people realize they learn more from times of failure than success." A characteristic that many may look down on, however, a trait that one can be respected for nevertheless. Characteristics are traits that are unique to every individual and make them who they are; it defines an individual and builds their image whether into a strong or weak person, however, each individual should be respected and valued equally. As unique and special each individual is, everyone has a role model that they look up to. Within this essay it will focus mainly on characteristics found in a sports person, who not only could be regarded as a warrior that has never given up but a symbol of strength. On an impulse to save herself and the others, Yusra and three other strong swimmers jumped into the water and started pulling the boat to safety. This act of courage, perseverance and resilience is the reason why Yusra would be a perfect example of the characteristics that were mentioned previously. Once in Germany, Yusra began training with the swimming club in Berlin with the support of the Olympic Committee. With the support she has been chosen as one of the athletes to compete in the Rio 2016 Olympics with the Refugee Olympic Team. It took more than bravery to leave her country and as she mentioned, “I want everyone to think refugees are normal people who had their homelands and lost them not because they wanted to run away and be refugees, but because they have dreams in their lives and they had to go”, Yusra Mardini can be considered a true role model for those trying to reach for their
