My first year at UNT will be a new chapter in my life I’m prepared to embark. I hold both ambiguous and positive expectations of college and the UNT campus. Early college high school has prepared me for many aspects of college, but there are also many things I have yet to learn. There will be new and familiar experiences, but I understand that the challenges I will face are to prepare me for my future success in life and career. College life brings many expectations to mind about the environment. I imagine the campus be full of outgoing and friendly students, which will be eager to get involved. We’ll have the freedom to decide what to do in our free time and the type of activities we’d like to assist. The campus will encourage students to join organizations and clubs, and staff members will be enthusiastic to help. I expect that the courses will be similar to the college classes I have taken, in which you can apply previous knowledge to new subjects. Since my previous high school classes were centered around rationality and logic, I think my next courses will have the same form of study. Overall, I foresee an open and social experience this school year. Weighing the importance of certain tasks and activities will be a struggle at the beginning. There will be a bigger workload and assignments than my high school, so organization will be crucial for my success this year. I’ll have to push myself a little to get involved around campus, because I’m an introverted person. For that reason, I’m willing to make new connections and new friends. Lastly, I think finding a job after college in the real world will be a challenge as well; I still don’t comprehend this process and what it’ll take.
