No matter what information you are trying to spread; communication plays a key role in it all. Public speaking is a wide spread form of communication that has been around for thousands of years and has proved that it is indeed necessary. It was interesting to learn that things we do, even subconsciously, all play a role in how well a message is communicated. Simply organizing thoughts in a logical way, which many of us do without the slightest thought, can aid in our attempt to effectively transfer information we know to that of others. Since it is such an obvious task, many people will never put the thought into what it may be like if people did not organize their plan of delivery. This helps to prevent people from getting lost in what the main point of what you’re getting across. If this was not done just imagine how hard something like teaching would be. No one would be able to learn because nothing would match up, you might think you are doing science and end up in a history lesson. …show more content…

It is compelling to add stories to a speech because it heightens the emotional connection and allows for a bond to be created. It also gives a more descriptive and somewhat physical aspect to what someone is attempting to inform their audience of. I tend to turn to this as a first method of explanations. I remember receiving a paper that I thought I was going to do horrible on; when I got it I was in awe at the grade. ‘I got a B’ I thought to myself. Upon further examination I noticed a small note from the teacher, “your paper was lacking in many areas but your stories allowed for a good connection”. I was elated that I did so well, and I owe it all to my ability to tell
