Hamlet is a tragic play by William Shakespeare about a man named Hamlet.
A debate on whether or not the madness of Hamlet, was legitimate or feigned. However, it may also be true that Hamlet slipped into madness due to his depression which was caused by several factors to include the murder of his father Hamlet Senior by Hamlet's uncle, Claudius or the seeming suicide of his love, Ophelia or his mother's quick remarriage to Claudius after his father's death. His madness could have been triggered by any one of these, but can it be proved that his madness was legitimate? Because in the end he blames his madness for his wrong doing and assumes that all will be forgiven because he has claims that he’s cured from his madness. He does not want to be held countable on his tragic action on murdering Laertes father, Polonius.
Hamlet is still in mourning of his father’s death but feels that most of the people have moved on much quickly with the death of his father. And after a couple months his mother is remarried and a twist of turned events to find out that it is his uncle, Claudius which is his new step Father. Filled with anger he does not know how to digest this news. To top it off is visit buy the Ghost of Hamlet (hamlets father) to tell Prince Hamlet that his uncle Claudius is the murderer. And demand that he takes revenge upon him and kill Claudius. “To be or not to be,’ (3.1.56) true to himself or carry on bloody traditions of his war like father. ...m. Usually swords in fencing contests have had unsharpened ends so nobody would end up getting injured. Laertes had a rep as a talented fencer and so both Claudius and Laertes believed that he had a high probability to hit Hamlet (luckily Hamlet has been working on his fencing skills in secret and is quite better than anyone believes he would be). Laertes then recommends that they should have a sword applied with poison on it for plan B. Claudius then recommends that they should have a plan C as well if plan A or B would fail by having a cup of poisoned wine to offer Hamlet when he gets winded or tired. There is a lots of chances for mistakes such as Laertes can cut the wrong person or they could switch the swords. The wine class can be switched and sip by the wrong person or someone else can pick up his glass and drink it. There is so many possibilities for error.

They also provide care and feed animals in shelters and address the causes of their conditions. We have only one Earth and Greatergood.org helps protect and restore the environment.
The organisation that I have chosen to research is Caritas Australia. It is a non-profit international aid and development agency of the Catholic Church in Australia. Their motto is to help “end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity” for the poor so they won’t need to rely on charities anymore. Furthermore, the international symbol of Caritas is a flaming cross which represents Christ’s burning love for his people.
Hamlet’s inner course of action was further intensified with his encounter with the ghost. The information that Claudius murdered Hamlet’s father, was given to Hamlet by ways of the mysterious spirit, and this immediately provoked animosity in himself. In Act I, scene v, line 29-31, Hamlet states, “Haste me to know’t, that I with wings as swift/ as meditation or the thoughts of love,/ may sweep to my revenge”. This statement shows the rage and fury of Hamlet wanting to seek full revenge on his uncle; He still does not act upon this as quickly as he proclaims, which shows his inability to step into action.
Hamlet, a young prince preparing to become King of Denmark, cannot understand or cope with the catastrophes in his life. After his father dies, Hamlet is filled with confusion. However, when his father's ghost appears, the ghost explains that his brother, Hamlet's Uncle Claudius, murdered him. In awe of the supposed truth, Hamlet decides he must seek revenge and kill his uncle. This becomes his goal and sole purpose in life. However, it is more awkward for Hamlet because his uncle has now become his stepfather. He is in shock by his mother's hurried remarriage and is very confused and hurt by these circumstances. Along with these familial dysfunctions, Hamlet's love life is diminishing. It is an "emotional overload" for Hamlet (Fallon 40). The encounter with the ghost also understandably causes Hamlet great distress. From then on, his behavior is extremely out of context (Fallon 39). The Ghost of Hamlet’s father, was in way another brick of burden for Hamlet to carry, and did nothing but add confusion and anger to his already disturbed mind. After this I believe hamlets madness to grow, he his blinded by bitterness and anger towards his uncle so much that he loses sight compassion for life and love.

At first Hamlet is weary to kill Claudius, but he soon realizes that in order for his father to be avenged he needs to kill Claudius. “Let not the royal bed of Denmark be/ A couch for luxury and damned incest/ But howsomever thou pursues this act” (Shakespeare I.v.82-84). In this scene Hamlet is talking to his father’s ghost, he does not know whether he should trust the ghost or not because it could be representing the devil. After Hamlet sees the ghost, he is fearful that the ghost is not his father, because he has a stable relationship with his father we is willing to try. “They (boys without a father figure) call attention to their pain, getting into trouble, getting hurt, doing things that are bad for them, as if they are calling for a father to come take them in hand and straighten them out or at least tell them how a grown men would handle the pain” (Pittman). Family therapist, Frank Pittman proposes that kids who do not have fathers present in their life tend to get out of control. When Hamlet no longer has a father, he starts to act crazy, he is very rude to Ophelia and his mother, he starts to talk to himself, and have suicidal thoughts. Throughout the play Hamlet is in constant conflict with himself. An appearance of a ghost claiming to be his father, “I am thy father’s spirit”(I.v.14) aggravates his grief, nearly causing him to commit suicide and leaving him deeply disgusted and angered. Upon speaking with his ghost-father, Hamlet learns that his uncle-stepfather killed Hamlet the King. “The serpent that did sting thy father’s life Now wears his crown”(I.v.45-46) Hamlet is beside himself and becomes obsessed with plotting and planning revenge for the death of his father.
While searching for possible charities to do my Civic Engagement Project on, one charity immediately captured my attention. The charity that grabbed my attention is an organization that is called Water.org. This organization is a nonprofit American aid association that focuses on breaking down the barriers between sanitation, water and people. This organization is the outcome from the union formed between WaterPartners founded, by Gary White, and H2O Africa, founded by Matt Damon. Water.org believes that the best way to break the never-ending cycle of poverty is through the power of something so simple, water. This organization is cofounded by both Garry White and Matt Damon. They have been running this organization for 25 years and have already managed to impact more than four million lives worldwide. Water.org knows that charity will not soley solve a problem with such maginitude. Therefore they have a Watercredit initiative that makes it possible for people to take out small loans which are conveniently payable.
There are several organizations that are found to help people around the world. One organization is the Good Shepherd of North America or the Sisters of Good Shepherd, although it did not just begin like that. The reason it was founded was to help people, especially those who do not have a place to stay or are struggling. Let us first start with the Sisters of Good Shepherd which was founded by Five Sisters, under the name of Our Lady Charity of the Good Shepherd in 1835. The reason the Sisters of Good Shepherd are important is because they are the reason Good Shepherd has established, and it also started there while it began in Louisville, Kentucky on December 1st of 1842. Non-government organisations (NGO) are a diverse group of private organisations set up to engage in a wide variety of activities such as building schools, reporting on human rights, advocacy of the poor, climate change and disease prevention. NGOs are usually set up as charities or not for profit, meaning any profit they do make goes back into funding the services they provide. The number of NGOs is rapidly increasing and world wide there is an estimated 10 million NGOs. To give a bit of scale, in a country like India which has a population of 1.2 billion people there is approximately one NGO for every 400 people in the country. One of the most prominent and well known NGOs working across the globe is Amnesty International
As illustrated through his speeches and soliloquies Hamlet has the mind of a true thinker. Reinacting the death of his father in front of Claudius was in itself a wonderful idea. Although he may have conceived shcemes such as this, his mind was holding him back at the same time. His need to analyze and prove everythin certain drew his time of action farther and farther away. Hamlet continuously doubted himself and whether or not the action that he wanted to take was justifiable. The visit that Hamlet recieves from his dead father makes the reader think that it is Hamlet's time to go and seek revenge. This is notthe case. Hamlet does seem eager to try and take the life of Claudius in the name of his father, but before he can do so he has a notion, what if that was not my father, but an evil apparition sending me on the wrong path? This shows that even with substantial evidence of Claudius' deeds, Hamlet's mind is not content.
