In the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury he talks about censorship vs freedom of thought. Guy Montag, the main character, is a fireman who starts fires instead of putting them out. In this society books are outlawed, so the firemen burn the books. Bradbury argues that censorship keeps peace within the minorities. This society believes that books cause problems, to solve the problem the firemen burn the books so nobody can get offended. When they destroy the books they also destroy what someone has left behind and that person's thoughts and opinions.
