The renaissance is a time period filled with world changing events. Science, writing, and humanism changed people’s perspective on everything then, and even had an effect to the way we look at things now. During the renaissance many theories and discoveries about science were made. People became more literate during this time period as well. There were a group of people called humanists and they questioned things that people don’t usually question today and few to none questioned during the renaissance. Some people during this time even began to question the church. All of these things that we look back on today as world changing events were a daily occurrence for them to which they didn’t think much of. They questioned a lot of things but never denied them. Humanists liked to use the bible and Latin and Greek classics for their wisdom and knowledge. “What is a human being? What is a good life? And how do I lead a good life?” were questions that humanists often wondered about. They already knew the answers to these questions from the bible, but they liked to use the classics to strengthen and support Christianity’s answers. By using the bible and the classic’s, they would help teach people how to live and rule. During the renaissance a German named Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press. The invention of the printing press had a big affect on how information was exchanged. This caused and gave many people a chance to learn how to read and write. More ideas and theories were being published and more writers came to be. Newspapers were even being published in London.
