“Death of a Salesman” is a play written by Arthur Miller in which a salesman named Willy Loman struggles to achieve the “American Dream”. By having that mindset Willy struggles to raise his 2 sons, Biff and Happy who later struggle to succeed in their own lives because of their father’s obsession with success. Throughout “Death of a Salesman” Willy’s older brother Ben is described as a very successful man by Willy, Willy constantly wishes he was successful like Ben. Ben serves as a symbol of success for Willy in the play, but Willy can’t achieve what Ben did and lead to a life of blind ambitions.
